From what I heard about Malice and TNA, the management WANTED to keep bringing him in and had major plans. The issues was All Japan was paying him more (i.e. at all) and he wanted to make money; and this was in an era when All Japan was a shell of it's former self and before it stabilized with Mutoh's vision.

Unfortunately his "Das Wunderkind" look also very hard to make him going further in other gimmicks (I don't like His "Anti-American" gimmick either. It's make him a joke than make him great) And his Berlyn (from his own idea) was doomed from the start too (From the idiotic hairstyle) But the most disappointing is he's also retired too early. - Private Stash (Van Hammer) : It's a shame that he never have any championship belt in his career. The Flair/Watts/Lawler stable had a ton of potential, but much like TNA in general, they didn't know what to do with what they had. The faction needed to be feuding with newer, unestablished wrestlers and not freaking Jeff Jarrett and Dusty Rhodes. They needed to be booked like a clique of nepotism and privilege that are untouchable and despicable, and could be used to get over plucky new guys. I'm not saying they could've been NWO, but they could've been used significantly better.
Russo might have been responsible for some of the worse wrestling on tv but he also by far responsible for some of the best wrestling on TV also. He deserves to get his Blue flowers before he's gone..lol

I absolutely love going through these nwa TNA early episodes cause this was before I started watching TNA impact wrestling I think I started in 04 I remember the abyss Vs AJ Styles feud involving the tag titles and a team called the red shirts. So these are fun to watch. I was curious by the thumbnail what happened to wild slapnuts and now I know.

Before the mask was taken off random wrestlers would don the outfit when attacking others (in storyline it's Russo but he was only in the outfit for the reveal irl)
