In regards to the belt, it's possible she tried to take it off and make a tourniquet for her foot that was bleeding heavily. It's possible her pants were stuck and she was trying to remove them and could be why they were pulled down. Another thing I can think of in regards to the belt and sunglasses is that she was getting ready (hence the plugged in hair straightener) and was going to leave when he attacked her and is why her belt was only partially looped and straightener was on the floor. Either way, SO SAD. May she rest in peace.

48:03 the reason the guy was talking to the woman and bringing gifts was to manipulate her memories and thoughts. Memories are malleable and easily manipulated. He repeated the same thing over and over to give her memories and thoughts that would interfere and intertwine with her memory of what really happened. So if she’s interviewed by cops, or the press, or family members…..she’d be more likely to bring up the “fact” that the victim had depression, didn’t want to be saved, and her boyfriend tried everything he could to help.
Fun and disturbing fact : every time you think about a memory, you’re remembering the last time you thought about it. This means if you had random thoughts during that time remembering, they could be incorporated into your memory next time you think about it.
Say you went on a date with a guy to the beach, you’re reminiscing about it and during that time you think about how funny it would had been if he slipped and fell into the beach dirt because some dog had made holes while being walked. You imagine it in your mind. Two years later you start telling people about how your current partner fell during your date yet your partner has no memory of it. It’s because it never actually happened you imagined it and now you somehow have memories of it. That is a real phenomenon with memories, it’s happened to me. I wouldn’t have known it had that specific memory not been recorded by friends.
Be careful when speaking to cops who already think you’re guilty too, they’ll psychologically manipulate you into tripping over your words and getting things wrong. Then point that out as proof you’re lying and can’t be trusted.

My theory, assuming that I understood everything Bailey said, is that it started out as a guest she let in that was likely closer to Ant. No forced entry and the other glass. Ant would be elsewhere to establish the alibi. Loaded with money=murder for hire. Beat her unconscious (for the blood splatters) and then dragged her and threw her into the disposal which took some muscles. They knew how to play the building management with that footage, and that’s so irritating. They just dumped her to die. She suffered so much in her final hours.

There's an excellent Australian doc about it; they have a young woman the exact height, build etc as Phoebe, a gymnast, far more limber & physically strong than most, & they try to recreate an accidental or even deliberate, 'suicidal' fall into the bin chute. It shows that it simply isn't possible without some really difficult, & concentrated, very athletic contortions let alone if you were full of alcohol. Called the cops 4 times and they never showed up.
We’ve seen parents on the news because the cops didn’t come or wouldn’t let them file a missing persons report because of the missing person being a teenager. It’s a big problem here in the DFW area of Texas.

I don’t know if it was already answered, but we have 911 because at the time it was created, you had to dial 9 (if I remember correctly) to connect to a line and the 11 was the fastest two numbers with a rotary. Something like that, and super vague lol

I’m pretty sure Bailey covered that in the 911 operators episode of Dark History

@@elaceyb did she? I haven’t watched any. But in this episode she said she didn’t know why it’s 911. I think I heard about it from…. Morbid?

Aussie here! Highly recommend the podcast "Phoebe's Fall" if you want to know more details about this case. So sad. I was emptying garbage in an apartment just down the road from the Balencea and thought of Phoebe 😞 BTW there is NO WAY a person could get in one of those chutes alone.
