Cable shears for easier cutting of multi-conductor cables
The new KNIPEX StepCut® XL (95 11 225, 95 12 225, 95 18 225) can do more than you'd expect from ‘normal’ cable shears of this size. So, what can it do? It cuts cables that take unnecessarily long to cut with ratchet cable cutters and too difficult for smaller single-handed shears. This includes cables like NYM-J 5x6 mm² (or NM-B 10/4) and stranded single conductors made of copper or aluminium up to 70 mm² (AWG 2/0). You can use it with one or both hands, depending on your strength.
The cutting edge geometry is designed to cut both small and large cables as close to the joint as possible, making cutting easier. The front area features a new ‘nibbling point’ for cable cutters, allowing you to ‘nibble’ through cables of almost any size piece by piece, similar to a sheet metal nibbler but for electrical conductors (without steel reinforcement).
Additionally, you can quickly cut smaller cables, such as NYM-J 3x1.5, in one go without having to open the pliers wide to insert them.
