This song was really magical for me several years ago when I was freely teaching meditation in the basement of a church, universal meditation open to everybody, secular or spiritual. I was in a real good space in my life professionally etc. There was another small group also in the church led by a blind man and a beautiful young woman who were sharing their version of the gospel with small communities. I would always run into the woman prior to starting up my meditation group as she was leaving and we developed a friendship. Wow, how she loved the Lord! And that rekindled an experience I had as a teenager, recalling my own previous love of the Lord. So this obscure woman ended up setting me on a new trajectory in life or you could say an old new trajectory - and I always call her my covenant woman and when listening to this song frequently, I smilie sometimes with tears! Thanks to everybody with faith, let’s push it forward!

The Lord touched Bob a long time ago. That's the reason of his voice and being so weird at our eyes sometimes. I always thought he sees things we can't see in this world.

But on other albums (Blood on the Tracks and Desire are probably my favourites) you have great music PLUS the hallmark Dylan lyrical depth and trickery which just aren't on the Christian albums. But it was a phase of his career that is often ignored and perennially underrated. There are some gems in it though, and this song is definitely one of them for me.

This is a beautiful song ( from the album ' saved ' ) I'm a working medium so certainly have a contract with the lord which started at the age of 29 after losing my partner in a fatal road accident at my age then 21. Since then there has been challenge after challenge. I'm now 55 and have spent the last 30 years helping others in grief. It takes its toll but this song for me many years ago could have and probably did save my life !! Thank you Bob Dylan. There are no words to express this song.......💜
