  • Former University of Fort Hare Professor Edwin Ijeoma has accused Vice Chancellor Professor Sakhela Buhlungu of leading a witch against certain politicians who've studied at the university. Eastern Cape Premier Oscar Mabuyane has been accused of fraudulently registering for a postgraduate degree without qualifying as well as Minister Noxolo Kiviet. We cross now to SABC News Politics reporter Samkele Maseko who is with Ijeoma.

As an alumnus of UFH, I feel compelled to express my strong disapproval of individuals like Ijeoma, who bring disgrace upon our university and the academic community as a whole. Despite making public threats, Ijeoma and his co-accused students have failed to take legal action against the University of Fort Hare. Any innocent person who faces such damaging allegations would surely exhaust all available avenues to clear their name. This holds true for Oscar and Gomba as well; despite the serious nature of the allegations, neither of them have pursued legal action, which could have significant implications for their political careers. It is essential for the media to refrain from providing a platform for these individuals to spread falsehoods and launch smear campaigns against the Vice-Chancellor and UFH.

@@chumamemela6217 The university should have a system with checks and balances to prevent individuals being able to do what this guy is accussed of. The acceptance and registration of a student is not done by one individual, it is a process that is scrutinized by several university structures.

@@navu1961 I understand your point of view my brother and I agree with you. The university of Fort Hare indeed does have these checks and balances, consequently they have been further strengthened in light of such cases. What Ijeoma was doing requires a syndicate and I believe the SIU will uncover that whole syndicate. Yes he might be the face but he was definitely not working alone sir.

He even absconded with the University vehicle😅. I'm surprised that he's not using swearing statement in "Jesus" name that he knows nothing about his alleged implications😳‼️This people can lie yooooh 😅😅😅 Tell us about your accomplice😳‼️ #Syndicates

How can the university of Fort Hare defraud the University system by awarding the poloticians certificates without studying. Millions of the University Students who have the required High Skill university Degrees; Honours and Masters, are Non Employed; they are at home. However is employing the Politicians could or should have done Credit Getting and liaise with other universities. for confirming whether the Certificate is fraud or not.

It makes you wonder why Samkele did this. He did not challenge any of the untruths and the deflections of Ijioma. He calls him "Professor" for heaven sake! The evidence that we have seen already shows how this fellow got into a PhD program at Univ of Pretoria through fraudulent qualifications. I wonder what Samkele is trying to achieve here.
