For aerospace i would say IITK and IITB are similar and iitk even is a little better in terms of facilities such NWTF and heal laboratory and some superb teachers and is one of the best for aerodynamics research,the only place it lacks is kanpur as a city is pretty bad and doesn't offer much compared to bombay other wise it will be ranked higher ps - I interned at iitb and currently a mtech student at iitk
One more thing i would say is that acads at iitk are one of the toughest in india but the environment for research and startups are quite good and placement in core sector is quite good and in some areas better than iitb for aerospace department if you are skilled enough to crack it but for non core iitb takes the win easily

Information regarding Architecture is completely wrong. No IIT is known for good Architecture education. There is a big difference between Engg & Architecture. Just bcoz an IIT is good in engg doesn't automatically make it good in Architecture. Also Arch is offered only in Roorkee & Kharagpur, not Varanasi (unless they have recently started it). None of the reputed architects r from any IIT. Most of them r from top state colleges like KRVIA , Rachna in Mumbai, CEPT in Ahmedabad etc.

Information regarding Architecture is completely wrong. No IIT is known for good Architecture education. There is a big difference between Engg & Architecture. Just bcoz an IIT is good in engg doesn't automatically make it good in Architecture. Also Arch is offered only in Roorkee & Kharagpur, not Varanasi (unless they have recently started it). None of the reputed architects r from any IIT. Most of them r from top state colleges like KRVIA , Rachna in Mumbai, CEPT in Ahmedabad etc.

There is no such branch in any IIT/NIT, it’s a specialisation & for that you can opt for Mechanical or Electrical branch in any IIT/NIT then in the last year of of your engineering you can elect Automobile as a specialisation.
