I wasn’t gonna come cause I live in Hawaii so with cost of tickets and airplane fare too much. But then I heard Burning Spear was gonna be there. Found some cheaper flights. But to be honest Lila was the star of the whole thing. Really enjoyed her the best in addition to the Malian group.

As a music exec watching this is painful. Lol, she is so pissed with her band, lol. They mashed up her vibe and they're not keeping the musical direction she rehearsed so she can't trust herself to go all out and truly perform because she's MD'n at the same time. She's incredible though. I can only imagine the post performance team huddle they had this day. lol

I’ve attended over 1000 live shows in my life, so I consider myself an expert in live music. What makes a show good has so little to do with technical details and so much to do with how the artists relate to and emotionally connect to the crowd and in this case, the watchers of this video. Lila is wise beyond her years. When she says that when she comes to Cali the crowds are chill because of the strong Ganja, and that’s okay, she already had me. Listen to Sweet Inspiration again.
When I first started listening to live music, I loved the Allman Brothers tune One Way Out, from a live show at the Fillmore, and I always wondered what they played right before it and right after. Eventually I got a tape of that show, and the other songs were unremarkable. That’s the way it goes with a live show, if there is one song performed that sends you into that special place, it was a great show. And Lila and the band manage that several times during this show. I have so many examples of this, I should write a book.
But in the book I won’t be mentioning technical failures, for me they show the humanity of the performers and don’t really detract from the show. Love me some Indiggnation!

Yep can feel it too. Lot of start wasn't good Lila was out of tune on the begining, and the pull up are just there too hide that.
