I’m glad you mentioned Mark Carder. His way of teaching is soo easy to follow. I remember once he said “ I will teach you how to paint what you see but I can’t teach you how to make art”. I followed his method for about 13 years and I’m still doing much of it now.
The DaVinci Initiative is amazing! So much thorough instruction on drawing it's a real gem. I learned a lot from their videos a few years ago. Thanks for the nudge to go back and learn some more.
Thanks for posting this! It was great to meet you there and to see this review. Great reminder of a wonderful time. We, too, are getting together to have a group painting weekend with friends.
Thank you for this wrap up video Chelsea. Much appreciated. My personal wish for a video is: When Louis mentioned (during a PFL session) that you sat at the side of Frances Bell whilst she was painting during the conference, i thought, 'Ooooh I hope Chelsea can share some hints of how she does what she does!'
"There is magic when we paint the way we love." EXACTLY! My best paintings are my own style. I didn't start painting seriously until after I retired. I don't need to make money doing this, so my fear of failure is all in my head. It has nothing to do with needing to paint art that sells to pay my bills. That's both a good and bad thing. I am a procrastinator. If I needed the money, I'd paint ten hours a day.
You are a great painter, but as I look at your videos more and more, I really believe that, instead of being a painter, you should dedicated yourself at being a full time psychologist.❤

In helping people to break through their blocks so they can paint the way they've always wanted to, I get to do both.
