Stumbled across your channel, your work is great. I just pulled the trigger on a full spectrum camera on KEH, also placed an order for this Kolari IR Chrome filter. I can't wait to put that to work in the American Pacific Northwest. I got a weather sealed body btw...
My Kolari IR chrome filter is due to arrive tomorrow. I've had a full spectrum Canon 90D for years doing astrophotography work and only recently got into IR. I've got a good range of filters already and I've learned a bunch of stuff i.e. color swapping, custom profiles -100 temp and whatnot. This filter looks to be a dream, though there's no foliage where I live right now. 😥I'm sure I'll still have fun and going to Hawaii in May!!! Peace, my man, and keep on having fun.
Really interesting video - lots of ideas - thanks. I have an NEX-7 converted to whole spectrum that i have now used for several years and have been extremely happy with it. I’ve also tried many different filter combinations plus the IR Chrome, which is a revelation. Really appreciate knowing what Lens you were using for this trip. I’ve been using the Sony 18-55 stock because it has negligible ghosting and the results have been surprisingly decent. Your trip out in the woods looks very much like it is here in Scotland - well except for being pretty chilly here at present (December).
Glad you enjoyed the video! The IR Chrome really is something special especially when you have a little bit of fog around you. I've found that all of my lenses work reasonably well with the IR Chrome filter but my 24-105 really suffers when it comes to pure infrared images
@@michaelciccone thanks very much indeed for getting back to me. That’s really nice to know. I hadn’t ever thought about going out with mist / fog about so I will certainly give it a try. Cheers 🍻
Unusual, different i like it!. Always doing thing outside the box mate and that's why you are the man. When you said "good friend" i was waiting for my name..
Such a cool way to discover lamington again and again ! It was an a great day and you got so many good shoot ! Especially love the last one and the one at 11:28 !!
Fantastic video! I loved the photographs you made throughout, I think I'm gonna have to get my Nex-7 Converted! I rarely use it nowadays so I'll be saving it from it's undeserved fate as a 'shelf queen'.
Thanks for watching! I just use anything that I think will be white with the filter on. Usually the colour of clothing is changed so you can’t really use that but if you have a white piece of plastic with you that works pretty well. Otherwise clouds are also ideal to whitebalance with but they aren’t always present.
I recently decided to go full spectrum and get an IR chrome filter as well. I've been shooting mostly B&W IR but the uniqueness of the IR Chrome look has drawn me in. Your IG has some amazing images on it, I'm surprised you don''t have more followers and more subscribers on YT. You have one more of each now :)
I love the colors of the foilage is this straight out of the camera or did you do editing. Kolari says with this filter you don’t need to do anything. I just ordered the 67mm for my converted full spectrum Sony a6000
These are pretty much straight out of camera. If I recall I just slightly pushed the foliage towards red, out of camera they are closer to orange but it is super easy to make them like this!
I wish they did! Then i might have got a discount myself but my wallet is still hurting from buying the filter. My advice is just buy one filter and use stepdown rings to fit it on all your lenses.
Only place you can buy it is from the company kolari visions website I’m pretty sure they ship world wide but the filter only works on full spectrum converted cameras!
I gave my Nikon D7100 for full spectrum conversion. I mounted an IRCrome filter on the lens. Unfortunately, everything is tinted blue + normal colors. Do you also use a regular infrared filter with IRChrome, e.g. Hoya R72? Or just one: IRChrome?
No it’s just the IR chrome filter, white balance is really important when using it and you constantly have to adjust it. With my camera I am able to set a custom white balance by pointing my camera at something white and pressing the shutter button. My guess is you just need to adjust your white balance for it to work correctly.

Awesome! I wish my camera was weather sealed. You should be able to get some amazing images over there for sure.

That filter works really well. I like the effect it gives to the foliage in the photos.
I think so too! Thanks for watching mate.
Nice video bro! Thanks for posting!
Thanks! I’m glad you enjoyed it
You’re welcome! Keep them videos coming!

I would 100% recommend it its a whole new world when you have a converted camera. Glad you liked the video!
Says you have a custom WB on your cam menu what did you focus on for your WB. Beautiful photos

Thanks for sharing. I like the Kolari filters, but they are uber expensive. Did Kolari give you a discount code to share with your viewers?

Do you have to get a full spectrum camera?
Yeah you do unfortunately the filter won’t work with a normal camera and will only look like you have put a blue filter on your lens!
@@michaelciccone yeah I thought so🥲 just didn’t want to face the harsh reality
Pls send a link where you can buy the IR Chrome filter in Europe! Superb videos, I subscribed!

@@michaelciccone yes I know . They ship worldwide but the custom
Fee and post fee are huge
@@photo-markus yeah unfortunately it’s a newer filter and they were the ones who developed it so they are the only company selling
Hey, what software do you use for the wallpaper, thats pretty cool!
Its called wallpaper engine!
Lovely photos! Been wanting a full spectrum camera for a long time. I'd convert my 6D myself but I'd hate to kill it in the process.
I’d definitely recommend getting it professionally converted I doubt it would be worth the risk doing it yourself. Glad you like the video!

This is a dangerous video for the GAS
The only reason I have this converted camera is because of the GAS !
@@michaelciccone oh, so you’re just… passing gas 🥁
The Sony F-707 and F717 and F-828 cameras can shoot true Infra Red without any expensive modifications, check TH-cam.
