Cop Asks Scientist: Is Alcohol more Dangerous than Heroin?

  • Howard Wooldridge, founder of LEAP (Law Enforcement Against Prohibition) asks why there has not been a statement made by the National Institute on Drug Abuse (NIDA) about the relative dangers of different drugs to help legislators make informed policy decisions. Wooldridge cites an earlier analysis by the Lancet which claims that alcohol is the more dangerous drug.
    Question was answered by Nora D. Volkow, director of the National Institute on Drug Abuse.
