    I stayed in a house in Mysore. The owner's son-in-law is in army and worked as an Indian boxing coach. He has traveled with Vijendra Singh and many other famous boxers to Olympics, common wealth, Asian games, etc. He used to drive a Honda Activa and no body would recognise him. Really felt sorry for the negligence.

      So true...... Also during Major Dhyanchand's era , there were times when hockey players coped with poverty and they even got offers from other countries to play hockey under their flags, still our great players denied just because they were so patriotic and honest towards our nation. Indian hockey team had no competition those days and even when they won gold in olympics back to back ,they did not get much facilities and financial support from the government. Same goes with PT Usha and Milkha singh, even though they did not win any olympic medal and stood fourth and are still called legends because they coped with such situations where they were not provided facilites like other countries did for their players at that time and also as our players get today.

    Indian Hockey badly needs a revival. Like hiring IPL Franchises to make their own Mens &Womens Hockey team. The main sponsor should be a well known brand should be able to fund for these franchises and should be able to market the game globally as much as possible.

      @Netflix Prime it was our national game, you know what india is the most successful hockey team in Olympics with 12 medals I think. we didn't won single medal for 40 yrs. Still we are top in Olympics. even Australia was in three on that list. We are ruling hockey World the thing is we don't know that's it. Just go and check how many medals india won in hockey World. Many victories were not even televised and shown here in india. So know something about hockey. We are not bad at hockey we are just ignored hockey. That is why it looks like unpopular sport.

    I don't know why Ashwin gets very defensive when comparing a situation to cricket. He jumps at Prasanna at every instance to first justify that cricketers are not at fault (which Prasanna never implies it was) without listening to what Prasanna was talking about. But kudos to Ashwin for having this conversation that brought out the pathetic plight of hockey players. I hope this conversation and awareness makes a difference in the future for Indian sports in general.

    • @dinjumpin
      @dinjumpin 3 ปีที่แล้ว +6

      I do not think Ashwin defensive here. Most people start to blame cricketer for getting paid more than hockey player. People say to cricketer do not lecture about hockey situation - it is just a jealously. it is not cricketer fault for the hockey player situation. As a cricketer to reach that level, they have gone through the hard path.
      Hockey player situation is the absolute system failure

    • @rishyamarnath1791
      @rishyamarnath1791 3 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      I have noticed his defensive behaviour when Prassana compares cricket to any other sport. There was one such instance where Prassana told cricket is not a very intense game compared to football, basketball which is actually true, but Ashwin looked very offended at that and was defending saying cricket is also equally intense. The irony is this coming from a player who refused to run the second run on the last ball which would win them the match.

    Thanks for bringing this up Ashwin. So emotional .
    It’s not about sports . The whole system in Indianis corrupted. Discrimination in every sector . The culture , mindset of the people must change . If people are smart a revolution will happen .
    We can’t keep giving excuses about British rule for our slow progress.
    Not just hockey all sports must be supported . Basic education is a must . Our school system must change .when a child is talented in something other than education . School must be flexible for these kids . Learning must be customised .
    Our kids in India have no time for extra curriculum . Exams and tests etc . At the end of the day in the world stage we have not invented anything for the kind of studies they make the kids do.
    We don’t need exams and tests this many .
    Homework must be discouraged. A kid going to school studying for 8 hours comes back home and have to play for their physical and mental health and not do homework’s.
    Parents must encourage children to what their kids interest are . Rather than education all the time . Wake up schools, families, government

    So true... Bad reality of Indian school and the way other sports are treated.. Hope India changes in the upcoming year to a better future, development of the country and people's mind set.

    in my point of view - This Olympics has been the BEST so far and definitely a step forward. Forget the medals - the Contingent that we had on the Day 0 who were part of the Opening Ceremony, was the biggest number of all time for India. We won half the battle - We have reached the Finals of so many events looking out for the medals - which I have not heard of / watched ever before. That is another 1/4 of the battle won and then there are medal Winners - 5 and counting! Jai Hind!

So proud that a fellow sports person is taking this initiative to support other sport community and throwing so much light on our national game. This is an amazing eye opener for our nation to understand the struggle that go through every sport person and what they sacrifice to make India proud. This is very emotional and best Vlog sir

    Remember Kapil dev has said their world cup winning team did all the chores and still brought the cup back home that's when cricket started getting more attention and now we know where our cricket team stands in world stage
