If everyone started getting their moneys worth at real takeaway joints again instead of overpaying for inferior crap at the franchises we might get back to the kind of numbers of great local takeaways we used to have before we all got stupid 🤬
$3 to $4 cheaper than your processed fast food burgers. More ingredients, freshly cooked in front of you. What more do you need other than some chips and a drink. Thats a 10 everyday Grego.
Whatever Anthony belham😂 those extra ingredients were just falling onto his car seat. And 11 bucks is a rip off. I make the bestncheap burgers ok not like this junk👍
Seeing the milk in the fridge reminded me of the days when we went to the corner Milk Bar and got a Hamburger with the lot similar to this one and we would get a bottle of milk (in actual glass bottles) drink a bit from the top and get the owner to fill it up with flavouring...my favourite was always Chocolate...Good Work Grego
Hey Greg when i was growing up all the milk bars and cafes in my town used to make the works and other burger selections as well as the milk shakes in the anodised cups great value for money. How things change, keep up the good work and please show more small take-away shops and cafes they have some excellent food .Thankyou again champion for all your work and effort bringing Us these posts.Cheers.👍👌😃👍
Thanks so much Greggo - I have to make a dip and after seeing this I'm going for one called the Aussie Lot. I'll let you know how beetroot and pieapple goes down in Yorkshire!
You gotta try hashtag burgers and waffles in Capalaba, or they've got a couple of locations, one of the best burgers I've had in particular the morning wood burger and you gotta pay the extra 2 bucks for a potato bun, the softest and most fresh bun I've ever had on a burger, all up it's about 18 bucks which isn't cheap but it's definitely worth It
Burger with the lot is my favourite thing in the whole wide world. The only improvement there is to have it with hot chips with every bite. Good onya greggo!!
Try the burger at Wacol Snack Bar, pretty much across the road from the train station (dunno if they've changed, but they had the best and biggest burgers around) and for those whom want to find the Acacia Takeaway, it's actually called Acacia Cafe
Hey Greg, try the Caity's Cafe 28 Ereton Dr, Arundel QLD 4214, they make great chicken schnitzel and chips (chips with gravy, yuuumm) !! The bakery next door is great too, great ham and salad rolls. I used to work across the road great tucker !!!
Mate, if you're going to take it apart before you tuck in, of course it's going to fall to bits. Love your work. Made this burger at home for less than five bucks :-)
Hey Grego, another great review from the legend himself :) There’s a Burger / Hawaiian food joint called Grubbie’s burgers. Can you give it a review? Cheers. I think there’s multiple locations in QLD.
Searched the memory banks for my best Brisbane burger.... Used to get a burger with the lot at Milton near Suncorp circa 2008. Was a thai family working from their home and garage/converted space. Meals were always generous and cheap. Burger with the lot was $10.50 and massive. Remnant of that is "salt and pepper" catering. Might be getting close to "brodies" territory as well.... which could be a new chain to review....
The ingredient that you are missing that fixes the umarmi problem is a knob of Marmite or Vegemite in the mince when making the patty. This also works with stews etc.
Now thats a burger with the lot, pineapple and all! Gotta love lunch bar food, but good luck getting in and out with time to eat on a 30 min lunch break lol
Damn that looked good Greggo!... The only part i would've asked to be left off of this Burger... Is the Pineapple Ring... As i'm not a huge fan of mixing fruit slices with my savory foods... But everything else looked amazing my friend... Especially compared to that tiny Hungry Jacks Texan Bacon Deluxe Burger you tried recently... That only weighed in at 238g for $10.35... This one today was 448g for $11.50... So for only an extra $1.15... You'll get a Burger that has an extra 210g in weight... Almost twice the size as the tiny Hungry Jacks Texan Bacon Deluxe Burger... Why would anyone buy the Hungry Jacks Texan Bacon Deluxe Burger... When you have fantastic independent businesses like this... Giving you a much better Burger option to try. 🍔😋
Hamburger with the lot just over $11 👍good fair price. Glamorised burger shops with half the ingredients and nowhere near as tasty double the price . Authentic burger with the lot wins every time. Nice 1 grego 👍
Grego ! , Amazing video ! mate ! , .. You know the silly thing is though for a burger that , size , they need for the eye when eating it a little more green Lettice leaf , as the iceberg lettuce they used gets a little lost . almost a "spinach green" is what is need , and a couple of bamboo sticks JUST to hold it all together , ..... You know its not a couple things that draw away from a great burger from the makers of it " But IT needs a just A little MORE love" for what you get right !?
Great review as always, I would've preferred more onion and BBQ sauce on top of the meat. And was the patty one of those processed ones? They seem to lack the flavor of a ball of smashed mince.
Looks good. I much prefer Aussie-style burgers over the American-style burgers that most places make these days. They have become an endangered species, sadly.
Watching from NZ. These are like our fish and chip shop burgers. So much tastier than Macca's etc, where the flavour only really comes from the sauce. Try a Big Mac without the sauce.
Greg, love your rerviews, but being a simple Brit, pease can you confirm whether the beetroot you put on your burgers is simple boiled beetroot or pickled beetroot?
Hey Greg. You said that the burger was missing some flavour. Was the pattie just beef or a combination of beef and sausage? If it was just beef, then maybe that is why it is missing flavour, because a traditional Aussie burger has sausage mince in it as well.
Grego i love me a industrial style take away burger bigger and better Value then a Maccas Big Mac. The Unami flavour you say is missing is MSG as in Tom sauce or Vegemite would of taken the overflowing bun to Mt Koskioko heights.
