We were born in Orillia but moved away when we were young. We still spent every summer with our Grandparents there and loved every moment.Terri Lamb-Payne

Visited Orillia when I was a kid . It was our teachers home town she grew up in. Visited so many sites . Best trip ever and we did go to Stephen Peacocks old resident.
Hope to revisit on my retirement years in next 5 years. Be worth my time and may take my siblings on a day trip with me. Worth its weight in gold.

We moved to Orillia just as I became a teen, and I hated it there. Too far from Toronto where all the cool stuff was, and I never really felt like I fit in with the culture of the place. I was happy to leave when I graduated from PSCI. So why do I get so nostalgic for the place and look forward to checking out my old haunts when I go to visit my parents?

Robert Munsch Put Orillia on the Map with the Book Zoom featuring *a Wheelchair bound girl who bought a Red, Silver and Black 92-speed Dirtbike wheelchair to replace her old 3 speed wire wheel rusty wheelchair which is 40 years past its design life
*I Hope they would build a wheelchair Shopping mall which uses ramps and elevators instead of stairs includes retailers that sells goods for the disabled regardless of it's visibility, which also includes a store that sells power wheelchairs like in that book with a oval testing track. which will be built next to Orillia Railway station

Has to be after Arthur Shilling died because the narrator said "after he died recently..." So late 1986, or 1987.

Orillia the town that said and did nothing about what went on at HRC ( HURONIA REGINAL CENTRE ) Shame on the people that worked at HRC and turned a blind eye or abused the children and adults with Downs Syndrome . I'll never forget or forgive those people and the Ontario government. My brother lived at HRC and died there in 1999 to this day I'll never know how he was treated at that house of horrors HRC.
