Thanks for the inspiring techniques. For those that didn't notice, Teela is using analogous colors for this (colors that are close to each other on the color wheel). This helps avoid the paint from mixing to brown.
Teela, I love you. You've shown me what I have done by accident and could not reproduce! All because I didn't understand/know what I was doing"guess you could call them happy accidents" But knowing how to reproduce these effects ... Wonderful.
This was awesome...I have never painted before and I have 10 tubes of acrylic paints, a 24x36 canvas and 5 brushes...didn't know where to start until I watched your video! I wanted stripes but had no idea how to combine these colors..thank you thank you!! Now for the cardboard...LOVE IT! And you are a great instructor
I'm with you Gail. I am working on my very first canvas (started with 'kindness rocks') and have learned so much from the youtube tutorials. I'm going to recommend checking out 'The Art Sherpa's Big Art Quest too. I've learned about the different brushes, mixing mediums and types of paint to use, techniques, etc.. Good luck and I'm sure you'll do great!
Posts like this remind you why you subscribed. Brilliant and excellent yet simple. The 1st looks like a lake. The 2nd a savannah. The 3rd a desert. And the 4th a field of flowers. 👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏
Teela, you are a fine teacher. These were very helpful, clear and easy to implement for students. And indeed, note keeping in the cool or warm colors helps to prevent the "brown" mudding.
The 1st stroke using the big brush it looks like a lake with the reflection of the trees or bushes. The 2nd one with the long piece of cardboard looks like a person running, and the second part of the long cardboard looks like a beach with red water and rocks on the sand. The last stroke with the little cardboard looks like a lake with the reflection of lights or floating lanterns. I love these tricks
Oh my gosh, I love this video. I just used trick number 1 in the painting I was working on. Wow - it really added to the painting. I am excited to watch more of your videos. Thanks so very much!!!
Beautiful! Thanks for sharing. You are a truly blest artist and instructor. As an musician educator, the greatest compliment was when I would be told “you make it look so easy”. So to you, I say that you make these techniques look so easy! I know the first couple tries I do this, it will look nothing like hers. LOL😉 Has anyone every tried this on YUPO paper?
I loved all the tricks. Mostly the 1&3. But don't get me wrong I also loved the 2, one. How do you get all these tricks. How do you think of em or do you search um up
Hey! Thank you for sharing theses tricks. Trick no. 3 is my favourite and I loved the paintings in the end. Don't know why there are so many dislikes here but I loved this video!!
nice video....for newbies: put your brushes straight into shallow water (bristles downward) if you are not going to use them again fairly soon, otherwise they will dry out rock hard, super fast (especially if the air con is on!) and then they are useless for anything except the rubbish bin... even if they are cheap brushes, this is just good practice - and less stuff in landfill :)
I stumbled onto your video and am so pleased I did. Thanks for your clear and concise presentation. Very worthwhile tips. I’m trying #3 tomorrow and I’m subscribing to your channel. Thanks for sharing! 🤗
I love how easily you explain and show the techniques. I bought a painting but there’re two colors that are a little off... think I’m going to use these techniques to cover over the parts I want to change. Once I’m satisfied, what kind of glossy covering can I use so it doesn’t look like I painted over it? Something to mask it. Thanks in advance for you input.
Teens you just made my day. Very much liked the brevity while still conveying precious little tips that inspire and motivate. Thanks so much for the lesson!
Hi Teela, I just joined your library and there are really great material there. I want to ask if you have or will have any tutorials on abstract tutorials?
TH-cam has become my art school. Thanks for the lesson.
Tell me more about your art interest.
Me too! Haha
Same! 🎨
Yes
So agree
Thanks for the inspiring techniques. For those that didn't notice, Teela is using analogous colors for this (colors that are close to each other on the color wheel). This helps avoid the paint from mixing to brown.
It is nice! What about tulips? th-cam.com/video/bKYVrd9Z9Tc/w-d-xo.html
Absolutely incredible.... Hard to believe no one has commented on how amazing this share was for over 5 years?!
I loved that demonstration, especially the 3rd one.

That was fabulous so thanks for sharing your tips with us and I can't wait to try them out - especially the last one 🌺
Teela, I love you. You've shown me what I have done by accident and could not reproduce! All because I didn't understand/know what I was doing"guess you could call them happy accidents" But knowing how to reproduce these effects ... Wonderful.
We’re fortunate to have an innovator and creative such as you in our midst. Congratulations for a job well done.❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️

Teela, you are a fine teacher. These were very helpful, clear and easy to implement for students. And indeed, note keeping in the cool or warm colors helps to prevent the "brown" mudding.
This is an awesome idea. Now, I have to create my own little experiment and see the magic happens. Thank you. 😃
Number 3 is a winner! Thanks
I love the third one. The added texture from the globs is great. It could look like scales with the right colors and form.
🧜🏾♀️I also thought the 3rd technique would be great for scales. Mermaid scales would be fin-tastic to try.
Love this! I can imagine all sorts of scenery with those textures!
Merveilleuse exécution. Cela donne des idées. Bonne continuation. Merci.
