This song made me realize that how precious life is. I do suffer depression and anxiety at times my father was not there in my life anymore. I felt abandoned and betrayed and I spiraled in hate and fear. I take what Master Yoda says to heart. "Fear leads to Anger. Anger leads to Hate. Hate leads to Suffering." Those lead me to hate alot of things and people in the world. I felt like I fell to the dark side. I avoided friends and family. Until I had a dream that I was a father I was being pulled away from my future and I tried to run to them. I overpowered my dream and became a Dream Master. I awoke and said my deadbeat father doesn't control my destiny. I will be there for them and nobody will stop me. My The Father Of Understanding Guide Us All.

This was so so sweet! I’m crying! When the song says “don’t you mind them” and “ all the people who scold you” that hit me hard because I was born disabled and people did treat me differently (sometimes in bad ways too) but my parents did not not care, they loved me whenever I was diagnosed with Cerebral Palsy and will continue to love me.
That is why I was horrified when I found out that some parents actually give their kid up when they find out that they have a disability.
However I now know that that those parents may not have had the time/energy/money to care for a disabled child. So it was very hard for them to come to that decision and I’m sure they think about it/you every day
Currently playing this song through headphones to my unborn daughter through my belly. I’m in love with this song and plan to sing this to her when she is here.

My mama used to sing this to me whenever my dad's dad's relatives were snobby and mean to me when I was little. I recently found out that when my dad and his older cousin were growing up, his dad's parents picked him as their favorite grandchild, and when I came along, I was their favorite, followed by my younger brother 14 months later. My parents loved and still love us both the same.We never really spent time with my dad's dad's family and I'm glad.
If Disney has any sense at all, they will use this in the live action version that's been talked about.
Live action what? Dumbo? If so that'd be interesting but to be honest. Those amazing creatures should be left alone and not forced to act for our amusement. The cartoon was enough for me than and is now.

My mom never sang to me as a young little kid growing up she just told me to go back to bed and slammed her bedroom door shut in my face or put a chair in front of my bedroom door to prevent me from escaping my bedroom.
