I know exactly where you are coming from. I am a regional director for 13 preschools in CA, AZ, and NV serving Infants thru Kinder, and we had to abruptly say goodbye to our children and families! All of my principals, admin teams, and teachers miss their students tremendously...so much that our hearts are aching! We are doing distance learning for many and have catch-up zoom parties with others, but it’s just not the same as being in the classroom. We are a play-based, NAEYC accredited program, and hands-on learning is how we do it best. Our distance learning teachers have done a phenomenal job! In fact, they have blown my mind with their curriculum and activities they are teaching, but the physical contact is what we miss most! I look forward to the day of reopening my schools! Thank you for being here as a source of inspiration and connection! I look forward to ALL of your videos as you are always authentic! That makes them and you special! 🥰💕😘

It’s so hard emotionally from every view... I know the teachers are grieving also but the kids ( of all ages ) have gotten so ripped off... yes it’s sad .. and thanks for always sharing your emotional journey and being willing to be vulnerable and talk about things that are often hard. I believe the more we share about them the easier it is for others to share also 💙

Well it Looks like you had a Great Mother’s Day! First one I had without my Momma but both of my boys and my Hubby made it up to me, to have the Best Day possible! I Love how Henry came in and signed your journal! Sorry you ended on a sad day, I can’t imagine how hard it is on all kids and parents right now. Must be hard ending the school year like that. Praying for you and your family, Sis to Happier Days to come! 🙏🤗🥰💖💐

I just wanna say I freakin LOVE your videos. I have been at home now for a month and I binged watched pretty much every video that you have made. They make my day and always put a smile on my face. 😁. You are the reason I purchased a hobonichi. I am waiting for it to arrive I’m so excited 😆. So thank you and remember some days it’s ok not to be ok. ❤️

Thanks for sharing. When you can’t have a day to yourself now and again it makes me snappy at everyone. When I get to that point I “retreat” to my room too. I hope you get some more “cave time” (that’s what I call it) where you can just “be” and not have to be anyone’s mom, spouse, daughter....for a little while. 🙂

I really feel your struggle... and you deserve to tune into your emotional needs Emily... I am struggling so much as I haven't hugged my daughters and grandchildren for over 7 weeks and it's really getting to me this week... We are not robots are we? Please take some comfort knowing that 'sharing is caring' and you sharing is helpful to me, knowing that we're all praying for this to end and we are all in this together globally 😘😍💔 Stay strong and stay safe 😷

Our pick-up was Tuesday but school isn’t over. We still have three weeks. But since we knew we weren’t going back they spaced out the pick-up for each grade to allow the teachers to distance more.
I think bc we aren’t done at school ours wasn’t that depressing for me. They have a car parade planned for that in June. But my kiddo went with me for pickup and was so excited he could give them their presents he’d bought for Easter in person (kind of - I passed them too them and he waved from the back seat on the opposite side). But he didn’t want to mail them so he was thrilled. That helped.

I get the way your feeling right now. I go down the rabbit hole in the winter❄️ when I have no sunshine☀️. I was sick most of Febuary. Then all this 💩 started. I got a notice on my phone for my son's Orchestra banquet Monday. The 11th. It would have been his first one for High School. I got instantly sad. In the beginning of quarantine I wanted to stay in bed all day and sleep (and did several times). I had to force myself to get up. We decide to try and keep a "normal" routine for us all. We don't get up at the crack of dawn but we are all up by 8:30am now. Showered, clothed and fed by 10am. Son working on Schoolwork. No one is allowed back in bed until 8pm. Naps are ok on the couch if you need one. And only for 30 minutes. You and a few others on you tube have been my solace. My laughs. It has been a weird journey being in quarantine. But you have helped me find my way through it. Thank you. I have spent some money on new art supplies too which helps! 😜😍🎨🖌️ My New Hobonichi cousin obsession is your fault alone! 💗💗💗Now I am on the quest to find Real Simple Magazine. Thank you for being you and for being here!

My son graduated this year. I think I cried from April-June. Every time it was an event that "would have been". They did a makeshift graduation which was wonderful effort by the staff, school and district but it was so sad! I know what you mean. It's such a heavy feeling. My heart just broke for the kids as well as my own feelings of loss at getting to see my guy go through the rites of passage. 😥

I totally understand how you are feeling Emily i think its coming to that time of lockdown. On Monday I felt the same, i had a stressed out breakdown that my children are missing so much school and how it is going to affect their grades (as im in the UK and two of mine are taking major exams next year) I figure we are all allowed to have bad days in this unprecedented situation. Sending you big hugs, things will be back to normal soon 🤗 Take care

Yeah, grieving for lost events is hitting people. My husband doesn’t get it. But, people save up for things like vacations or grad, then to not be able to attend or go is depressing. I tried to explain that not everyone saves for used tractors 🚜 or atv's. Some people anticipate their disney trip for a year. For me, usually by now, hubby would be back to work, and I'd have more time to do my stuff. But, with him home 24/7 my schedule is nonexistent. It’s not easy to adjust.

I love how your pages has so many things on it. So colorful with different things but you can still get what you want to say down too. I do a Jamie Ridler seasonal yearbook she has a website and you tube videos they are so motivating you should give the videos a try at least . The yearbooks are guided. If since doing those I haven’t done anything other since I don’t have enough to write down in more than one and I don’t want to take chance stoping and not keeping up with them. Yet I would love to start a second one and do more collaging even though yearbook you can do those or what you want it has full moon pages and dream boards you can do. I love quotes too.

My journals were a bunch of nothing before I started buying buying them same stuff every day I learned so much even have two self study classes I bought when on sale one to learn how to do vision boards one for learning a few different types of journaling but I’m bad still haven’t done either and got then last year. Even if you don’t get seasonal yearbooks her you tube videos are so motivating. Your journals are perfect but these different I get print version they came from Canada. Pdf version is cheaper but I don’t want to deal with having it printed. I think there might be a video about them. I watched her videos long before she did the yearbook. I think they are on maybe 9th one I started with spring of 2019. So the one for summer I’m waiting for will be my 5th. Check out one of her videos at least and let me know what you think.

I must admit it hadn't really hit me until today. I had to leave the house for the first time in 3 months, to have an MRI scan. I was surprised to receive an appointment for it during lockdown, but felt that if my surgeon thought it was necessary, then it needed to be done. It was such a strange experience. Wearing a mask whilst being scanned and having a cannula fitted at arms length...(I had to have dye injected) It just felt so different from any other time I've had a scan. The place was eerily empty and the people were noticeably anxious. No chit chat, no friendliness, just sadness and fear. I've been in bed since I got back, not just because of the pain but because the whole experience has left me with such a sadness cloud, that I'm not sure I ever want to leave my house again. I totally get the need for clapping and rainbows and I'm definitely slapping a big ol' heart on today! 💖 Sorry for being a "Debbie Downer" in the comments but it is truly awful out there! #clapforcarers #clapforthekeyworkers

I am back to work, but struggling with all the changes, I went from quarantine to 6 days a week in a mask and I cracked open my day free because it's gonna be a week compressed into a day for awhile, at least people are usually happy while in a greenhouse so that's my positive, lol.

I went in on Monday to break down my classroom for the year. It was really hard to walk into my room that I left on a Wednesday, just a regular day, and haven't returned to until then. I had the date on the board, the "day" (we have block scheduling), all of my tests that the kids were taking over the next two days photocopied on my desk (well, in a box underneath since they had already gone through once and disinfected surfaces). They only gave me 4 hours to do something that usually takes me 4 days.... I also have no idea what next year will be like. What do I need to bring home ~ I used to bring tons of things home to plan, but since next year is my 25th (and most likely last) year, I don't usually feel the need to have tons of materials home with me. But, am I totally overhauling my curriculum for on line teaching? Chemistry is not easy to teach on line... the uncertainty is the biggest problem.... and the lack of closure on this year is horrible!! And we still have 5.5 weeks left!
