    You inspired me Jess😅
    So I bought the swiss alpineflage load bearing jacket, cap, trousers with braces, bag and field jacket. and honestly I am seriously impressed!! The camo is mind blowing when out in the woods, you can really just disappear it blends so well. I left my load bearing jacket at a distance and it just turns brownish green(very hard to spot) some dog walkers just wondered by when I was sat by a log.
    Every piece is so well thought out, straps everywhere so you can get real comfortable in it and get each piece to fit perfectly.
    It's very heavy duty to(similar to dutch army gear in that way)
    I'm going to have a go at waterproofing it all even though the knees and elbows are waterproof already👍
    As a surplus army gear collector and bushcrafter thanks for the heads up on this gear bro, much appreciated. I feel like this will last me years and years.

      Any suggestions on wear to find the m70 trousers because All i can find are sizing needing a belt to be worn with it, and do they have belt loops because I’ve seen some with and without it?

    I had a set of that camo but it was the overalls style, same jacket and pack. I loved it, super cool looking, loved the idea of it but wow, zero water resistance, very heavy, and we get near constant rain so I just couldn't deal with it. Put it in the Goodwill I think. I paid next to nothing for it from Sportsmansguide back in the day and now it's worth a ton of money LOL. Great video.

    Hi there Jess ..
    Awesome Bush Camp 👍👍👍.
    That Swiss M70 Gear never seems to age. All missing there is the matching M70 Poncho and perhaps a M84 Waterbottle w Cup or two .. although a SS Klean Kanteen 1182ml Flask and GSI Cup / Equivalent is more efficient.
    All that Beef .. a small criticism if I may please. I'm envious. Here in Switzerland, to buy that much Beef, I will have to sell myself into Slavery .. although in your case, 'if you've got it, flaunt it' 😁.
    Pan-cooked Flat Breads .. a regular on my Menu. My 'Burger' filling is more often than not, Sausage, Bacon or a Home-Made Fish Burger Pattie that in my opinion, equals any Beef Equivalent (but then, my Wallet is biased 😊).
    Scoff Bag up in the tree 👍 .. Bear Country. One can never be too careful. Take care .. Tommy

    • @EnduranceRoom
      @EnduranceRoom  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      thank you Tommy! I would love to check out the poncho sometime. Sorry to hear about the beef prices. Its going up here to. We have a small tavern nearby with a really great kitchen. Their prices went from $25 US a couple months ago, to $40 for a steak, as of yesterday. Crazy. The powers that shouldn’t be can’t get people on to their gmo lab meat fast enough. They are pushing bugs, meal worms now also as a livestock replacement.

    Jess, I like how you enclosed the rear of the plash palatkas. Great idea. I thought the alpenflauge was a horrible pattern when it 1st came to the states in the 90s. I bought several items and became a convert. The pack still lacks though.
    Great video my friend. John.

    • @EnduranceRoom
      @EnduranceRoom  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Thanks John! It was something that I had been wanting to try for awhile. Positioned back against a large tree or some deadfall logs would have a similar effect.
      Same here with the Alpenflage... I couldn’t see red being applicable to the woods. The red plays with the light. It makes the other colors break up more and appear uneven/natural. Really interesting effect.

Kind of a turn around of "If I could only have one." It's not theoretical, but the stuff you keep going back to. My favourite camouflage and my favourite combat jacket, then it has to be the DPM camouflage British Combat Smock. Check out the Swiss Alpenflage rain cape, a really heavy duty one, sadly not really usable a tarp though, incredibly tough and hard wearing though!
    I have two of the Swiss Alpenflage jackets, one has an inner shoulder flap that is waterproof coated material, it makes you sweat like hell, but the coat material is a lot more hard wearing. My other has the inner flap made from the same material as the coat, this material is very soft denim, unfortunately it is not as tough or hard wearing, the press studs have a habit of tearing off the pockets. This, I believe, is a newer version, the sweaty one is from the 1960s, it is heavier.

  • @tracythompson5960
    @tracythompson5960 3 ปีที่แล้ว +2

    The theory behind camo is not so much color as it is pattern. The red isn't as big of deal as people might think as it serves to break up the pattern of your body's outline. As long as it confuses the retina as to what we're actually looking at and it's part of a pattern that isn't glaringly mechanical it serves as well as any other color Can't really do anything about motion though other than to move really slow. Cheers!

    • @EnduranceRoom
      @EnduranceRoom  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Right on! I wasn’t sure how it was going to be until I filmed with it. Red is very dynamic with the light. It darkens up very quickly as light fades or as distance increases. The other colors (green, tan, black, white) are more present as the red fades, but also broken up. Really interesting effect.
      Have a good one!

    • @tracythompson5960
      @tracythompson5960 3 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      A camera lens may be harder or easier to confuse than a retina, I'm not sure. The signal to noise ratio is a mechanical measurement so it may be no different for a lense than an eye but it's also how the brain reconstructs the image that makes a difference. The lower the ratio the harder it is for the brain to distinguish the signal from the noise. Nevertheless it still looked pretty darned good on camera.
