The fact that zombie gavin spared Michael made me unreasonably happy, I nearly peed myself that was so funny. The only thing that could match that in humor was Ryan betraying everyone. 10/10 would watch again.
+Chuck Bertal Alternatively his own Gavinity still lingered on his corpse to the point that the alien couldn't control him properly. How do you invert controls on a corpse puppet. Gavin found a way.
+Kay Kar X2 AI seem to ignore unit that not combat capable. In this case, Gavin was out of ammo, right? Same with panicking unit. They ignore those too.
So because Ryan was working with the aliens the whole time, when they brought Gavin back to life he fought the mind control so that he could try to kill Ryan and save his squad. The Gavin corpse is the real hero.
1) That's X-com, baby! 2) I was screaming right there at then end before Ryan was mind-controlled, "Ryan, go into overwatch. R-Ryan, Ryan, OVERWATCH, NOW! Don't go through that window, no, Ryan, Ryan, DON'T!... (Aliens encountered, including Sektoid) Yup, we're screwed..."
+Destroyer831642 To be fair overwatch wouldn't of helped there. 1) damage wasn't high enough 2) and he had a shotty so you probably would of missed 3) The sectoid moved 2nd so he would of only capped the lancer
Yeah, but he would have at least had a chance to win, I see this scenario going in 1 of two directions, 1) They remain undetected, and can both remain on overwatch when the baddies come in, and gun them down when they enter, or 2) the aliens detect them that turn, stuff gets crazy, lancer dies, and Ryan is probably mind-controlled (as you do) I STILL think that Jack had the damage potential, if he had the angle, to take down the Sektoid, He did have gunslinger, so that 2-3 damage, plus he was re-loaded, so that's 4-6, he had a legitimate shot (pun not intended) of taking the Sektoid down. However, it was probably better for him to return to his perch up top, instead of joining Ryan by the objective. I must contend also with your second and third points as well, because, given the tight spaces, it is highly unlikely that they would have even been detected before they were in fair range of the shotgun (better than the shot on the Muton at least) So I am not convinced he would have missed, (then again, this is X-com, where the best and brightest from around the world miss a giant hulking brute 20 feet in front of them, so I can't entirely discount the second point) However, unless we are referring to the reaction move, in the normal move on the next turn, the Sektoid did move first, and would probably be in sweet overwatch range. At this point, it was no longer a game of X-com 2, it was a game of Enemy Unknown. The objective was secure, there were not that many enemies left and they had to come to you. You were no longer the aggressors as it were, you were the defenders, and in this instance, overwatch is king. At this point, I still think this mission was winnable, barely, but still winnable.
+TheSpoonyCroy actually in from playing the last game waiting is better. he could have gone into overwatch at the window and waited for Jack to be ready to back him up at the other end of the building. although i for one don't watch These videos for good game play or skills of any kind. i watch it for the failure AND that was SPECTACULAR lol.
+Destroyer831642 That's exactly how my thought went as well. At that moment i said "You still have a chance to win so Ryan, go into overwatch! Do not go out there." and then he went out there and i was like "Damnit Ryan! xD" Such a good Let's Watch.
Synopsis: Jeremy tried desperately to get a promotion but died in the line of duty, Gavin tried to avenge Jeremy but was killed and then brought back as a zombie hell bent on stopping Ryan taking Meg but was set free at the last moment, Michael was shot by the Glitch and Ryan under the cover of 'mind control' managed to kill off the invaders.
+unknown XCOM is incredible as a TBS game simply because it lends itself so well to being spectated. TH-camrs like Beaglerush became popular simply by doing LP's of XCOM.
Sort of. I'm rewatching Ray's playthrough of Mario Rabbid's and I was reminded of this. I had to come back to see Ryan betray them all. Now I'm going to go rewatch the Gears Tactics.
I need more of these videos. Even though only one person was actually moving the people, each of them had a say in what they actually did, which made it infinitely funnier when they got killed. Then end where Ryan still found a way to kill his team was awesome.
XCOM Field ReportTeam AH 5 was sent arrived in target area at 2000 hours. Operative Gavin and Rookie Jeremy were found dead with the cause of death being full body trauma. Lieutenant Michael was found dead having been shot multiple times in the body. Lieutenant Jack was found slashed across the chest inside the objective building. Aside from his handiwork, Captain Ryan was nowhere to be found, though signs of struggle were found at the point of enemy withdrawal. Requesting further investigation for possible Rescue Op. -XCOM Field Agent Edgar
Do more of this please! The awesome gameplay mixed with everyone's reactions is the foundation of this channel. You also have an interesting idea here with everyone controlling their own character. You could have a rotating cast!
+reaperoa To be honest they can't do that until the full game is out. Since I'm assuming this is the Preview build that reviewers have their hands on right now
+warhawk9566 Ryan knows what it is. He even mentioned that he would've done it if his movement was closer. And I think he's forgetting that his class is literally the risk class. It's the one that's definitely going to be out of cover the most.
Totally loved this video, especially how they all got into their characters even when getting getting screwed, they still played along and had tons of fun.
This got really intense, and them roleplaying their characters was hilarious, especially when Gavin came back to life! Also funny how Ryan betrayed them and still won in the end XD
I was already interested in this video... And then I realized they were all controlling each soldier individually. That's when I knew this was going to be a wonderful clusterfuck.
First off, that was fucking amazing and you have to do it again. Here is a friendly tip for next time. Reload only costs one action! There were so many times when Jack was on the bridge that he could've reloaded AND THEN shot and killed an alien at 100% IN ONE TURN!!! As much cringe as there was for me, this video was absolutely amazing. XCOM is very near and dear to me and I'd love to see it appear again. Thanks, and, well... Better luck next time! ;)
This was fucking fun. Seems like they were kinda uninterested at first, especially Michael, but they really got into it and it was pretty energetic at the end there.
This was a lot of fun. I'd like to see a series in this game on a lower difficulty; as characters die, those people can drop out of the videos similar to heists.
this video was amazing. DO MORE OF THESE LETS PLAYS PLEASE!!!!!!!! It was relaxed and all the commentary was about the game and it was a solid game. Keep these up.
The fact that a guy with a minigun has a 79% chance to hit a massive enemy standing 10 feet from him really bugs me. I get that it's for the sake of balance, but that's just ridiculous.
+needamuffin but hey, it is f**ing minigun. you just holding it like pro, no sling no bipod for stabilize it. oh, the guy also carry grenade launcher in his back which should be an encumberance for an ordinary person
+needamuffin It actually is not if you think about what XCOM is trying to represent. You as a player see the action at a very slow pace and are able to stop the time. The characters in the game are not. They "experience" (of course they experience nothing, they're just bits) the battle in real time.
As obnoxious as this video is it gave me an idea for a cool XCOM 2 mod. What if you played a campaign with other people but you only could control your soldier. Forcing communication and teamwork to complete the mission.
+Patrick Johnson hahaha, this is hardest difficulty. Trust me, man, it isn't as hard as the video looks if you don't play it on Legend. I sucked at strategy and I still loved XCOM:EW. I bet you'll like this if you want to play it. You can only get better with experience :)
In the video they're playing it on the hardest difficulty. If you play on normal and don't activate ironman mode (no saving/reloading allowed. Autosave only.) then this game should be a whole lot easier
So the bad guys keep missing Ryan and then he kills his own teammate. Coincidence? I think not.
A mole. They just mind controlled him to finish the deal.
+Nexi Noper no he was a sleeper agent, they didn't mind control him, they woke him up.
+theDamon2781 "ALPHA TWO WINS!"
+theDamon2781 not to mention his sword "malfunctioning" for a while, but was fine when he was "mind controlled" XD
+theDamon2781 01/15 WAS AN INSIDE JOB
!
The fact that zombie gavin spared Michael made me unreasonably happy, I nearly peed myself that was so funny. The only thing that could match that in humor was Ryan betraying everyone.
10/10 would watch again.
+Kay Kar Even in death and controlled by an alien, still loyal to his Michael
+Chuck Bertal Alternatively his own Gavinity still lingered on his corpse to the point that the alien couldn't control him properly. How do you invert controls on a corpse puppet. Gavin found a way.
+Chuck Bertal Alternately, Ryan made a Meg joke before the mission, which is why Gavin made a beeline for him.
+Kay Kar X2 AI seem to ignore unit that not combat capable. In this case, Gavin was out of ammo, right? Same with panicking unit. They ignore those too.
+FreedomFighterEx Nope. The zombie used up both turns to reach Michael. But my headcanon is that even when possessed he's loyal. UNLIKE SCUMBAG RYAN.
this had much more energy than i thought it would
Yep, I was pleasantly suprised.
+LifeOfEric I want this game myself now lol
+Brandon Webb Sucks it's coming in in like 3 months
+LifeOfEric February 5th.
+Stomaia87 Sorry, I went back 2 months into the past when I made that comment. No jk. Cool though!
that ending, it was the best thing ive ever seen :D
+Shadow 7645 It being a crit just made it so, so much better.
+Shadow 7645 Just Ryan being Ryan : )
+Shadow 7645 ALPHA 2 WINS!!!!!
by far the best
+Branden Woodruff that's weird it appeared twice
Please do more! This was hilarious!
I agree, this was EXTREMELY entertaining.
Yup! defo one of there best lets plays in a long time
+Eliezer Rodriguez Please god do more.
+Eliezer Rodriguez there needs to be a button where I can like this 1,000 times
+Eliezer Rodriguez YES
So because Ryan was working with the aliens the whole time, when they brought Gavin back to life he fought the mind control so that he could try to kill Ryan and save his squad. The Gavin corpse is the real hero.
+noel acevedo R.I.P Gavin corpse
1) That's X-com, baby!
2) I was screaming right there at then end before Ryan was mind-controlled, "Ryan, go into overwatch. R-Ryan, Ryan, OVERWATCH, NOW! Don't go through that window, no, Ryan, Ryan, DON'T!... (Aliens encountered, including Sektoid) Yup, we're screwed..."

Zombie Gavin wasn't a bad guy, he knew what Ryan was planning from the beginning.
That poor Muton... They called him a frog, a snake, a slug and a dinosaur. Clearly he was offended.
+Ramschat I didn't even realize that was supposed to be a Muton. Looks more like an Elite from Halo.
+BreakJack genetic engineering. Heck did you see the Sectoids?
***** The sectoids hit puberty hard
+BreakJack The mutons and sectoids went native over the 20 years since the original invasion.
BreakJack No not really
That was surprisingly good, I thought this game would be too slow or awkward for any type of video. I'm actually kinda into the game now too.
+unknown XCOM is incredible as a TBS game simply because it lends itself so well to being spectated. TH-camrs like Beaglerush became popular simply by doing LP's of XCOM.
+unknown sounds to me like you havent seen the "ironman impossible" series by beagle on youtube
+StrikeNoir105E There's a reason the original was awesome. They added more awesome with the reboot
Anyone else coming back to this after the gears tactics video

-XCOM Field Agent Edgar
Please pardon grammar and spelling errors.
Dude, its all good. This would make for one hell of a story.
But in Xcom 2 Xcom is a resistance movement so why would they have detailed field reports? Also nice Edgar joke.
SomeRandom Idiot I imagine it’d still be important to someone like Central who just wishes to know everything about operative missions going weong
Man, Jack's character didn't miss a single shot. MVP right there.
+spacesandshark ...Jacks character missed at least 2..
+KuciMane in xcom terms that's perfect accuracy
Did he really miss twice? I remember he grazed two enemies, but that still does 1 damage, so not a miss.
retrospectus never played it, wouldn't know :p
He missed 1 guy in a window but that's it
Even on a team without killing locking or friendly fire, Ryan can still kill everyone.
Even when we lose, Ryan wins
Do more of this please! The awesome gameplay mixed with everyone's reactions is the foundation of this channel. You also have an interesting idea here with everyone controlling their own character. You could have a rotating cast!
Could we have an XCOM immersion? A lab rat controls five RT members through a combat zone?
This is one of the best AH videos you've ever made! I loved this so much, I'd sell my soul for a part two.
please make this a daily thing or at least a new series
+Jonathan Cine I would love to see a full X-Com LP by Ryan/Jack or Micco/Gav (the latter with Gav at the actual controls of course).
+reaperoa To be honest they can't do that until the full game is out. Since I'm assuming this is the Preview build that reviewers have their hands on right now
TheSpoonyCroy
Well no shit, but sadly, even after it's out I highly doubt they'd do a full LP of it. It's just not part of their normal regime.
+reaperoa they did it for until dawn I don't see why they wouldn't consider it
Yeah it'd be cool to see them all learn more about the gameplay progressively and then pull insane shit as their respective classes
Oh they got a new Lazer Team trailer
Can they PLEASE do a Full Play of this?
This was absolutely fantastic. So many memorable moments. You should really do more of this. Well done!
All I'm thinking when I'm watching is "Earth is double fucked."
Please do more of this type of thing, it's one of the best things I've seen from you guys in a while
Oh I get it. The reason Ryan plays this without using any gameplay knowledge is he is getting back at everyone for Until Dawn.
14:07
"What's he saying"
"You know, protect shit, do good things"
Why did no one tell Ryan that Run and Gun allows him to shoot on the second turn?
+warhawk9566 i was screaming that at my computer pretty much the whole time.
I love these guys, but damn ryan, you are the worst commander ever
+warhawk9566 Ryan knows what it is. He even mentioned that he would've done it if his movement was closer. And I think he's forgetting that his class is literally the risk class. It's the one that's definitely going to be out of cover the most.
I was pleasantly surprised by how well a group-led game of XCOM worked as a video. Then I was blown away by the perfect ending!
I like how Michael wasn't really into it at the beginning, but then got really into it when things started to go down XD
Gavin's memories of Micoo prevented him from attacking his boi.
Is there gonna be a part two PLEASE!!!?!??
Holy shit, I didn't think this was going to be that good, but damn this video was hilarious 😂 Gavin's resurrection and the ending had me dying
"You can do the skull jab"
"Guys... I'm going in!"
You actually seemed kinda badass there Jeremy
So I've never been interested in XCOM, WHY? I love these kind of game! WHY DID NO ONE TELL ME XCOM WAS THIS TYPE OF GAME???
"Hey guys, what's 'skullmine'?"
"I dunno let's see...HOLY CRAAAP!"
This was an amazing LP, you have to do more of these!
This is by far one of my favorite videos they've ever made.
Totally loved this video, especially how they all got into their characters even when getting getting screwed, they still played along and had tons of fun.
Fucking flipped it in the end when Ryan ended up murdering everybody and siding with the aliens
I love it when doolz does voice impressions of characters, like at 38:40
he does it so quickly and it's awesome
I'd Love to watch you guys do a whole series on this game
I love that in the end Ryan killed them all anyway LOL
Jack, the pistol sniper.
Well that could've gone better.
+erttheking That should be the tagline to the game
+ThomasTheLuckyGamer Pretty much. Does anyone consider the mission a success if they lose three of their four man squad? I know I don't!
+ECUporkchop The pain usually becomes too much and I end up being a savescum. (-__- )
+DifunctedReble Xcom and Fire Emblem. Losing someone is a reload situation anyway, so I'm glad they give us casual modes.
That's xcom baby
This might be my favorite lets play
I was skeptical when I saw this pop up in my feed. Now, after watching it, I want them to finish the game. Great video.
We need some Michael vs Zombie Gav fan art.
This got really intense, and them roleplaying their characters was hilarious, especially when Gavin came back to life! Also funny how Ryan betrayed them and still won in the end XD
I was already interested in this video... And then I realized they were all controlling each soldier individually. That's when I knew this was going to be a wonderful clusterfuck.
now i just want more of these kind of let's plays..even listening to how Michael react to a 85% shot getting missed is golden..
Wait...did Ryan make sure to hover over Long Watch to entice Jack to pick it so Jack would choose the wrong type of action and die?
That was quite the amazing video, love this game series. Hope you make more cause you definitely have my eyes glued to the screen for this great idea.
Shoutouts to Jack with the Saving Private Ryan joke.
First off, that was fucking amazing and you have to do it again. Here is a friendly tip for next time.
Reload only costs one action! There were so many times when Jack was on the bridge that he could've reloaded AND THEN shot and killed an alien at 100% IN ONE TURN!!!

I want this to be a series. Surprised by how much I enjoyed it.
God this was so much fun to watch. Getting AH to try to be really strategic like this together feels like a breath of fresh lol
The end shows why you don't double move into unknown territory.
Please more of this game. Loved how much energy and how much they got into it!
I really really loved this! I really hope they do another one!
"Which one of my friends are you going to use?!"
"You."
Omg more of this PLZ!
This was the best thing ever. Please do more!
I would love to see this style of game with ODSTs.
Yes please more! This was fantastic! Make a series! Will watch every episode
Hahah of course it had to end that way! So perfect!
this video was amazing. DO MORE OF THESE LETS PLAYS PLEASE!!!!!!!! It was relaxed and all the commentary was about the game and it was a solid game. Keep these up.
"Yeah, I'll finish a guy off." - Gavin Free
Best way to end a video, PLEASE, more XCOM 2
The fact that a guy with a minigun has a 79% chance to hit a massive enemy standing 10 feet from him really bugs me. I get that it's for the sake of balance, but that's just ridiculous.
THAT'S XCOM, BABY
+needamuffin but hey, it is f**ing minigun. you just holding it like pro, no sling no bipod for stabilize it. oh, the guy also carry grenade launcher in his back which should be an encumberance for an ordinary person
+Eissa Cozorav did you really just say MOGAR is a ordinary person
+needamuffin It actually is not if you think about what XCOM is trying to represent. You as a player see the action at a very slow pace and are able to stop the time. The characters in the game are not. They "experience" (of course they experience nothing, they're just bits) the battle in real time.
+Eissa Cozorav
Since when have military people been ordinary?
Please do more! I wasn't expecting to enjoy this let's play but boy was I wrong. It was absolutely amazing!
As obnoxious as this video is it gave me an idea for a cool XCOM 2 mod. What if you played a campaign with other people but you only could control your soldier. Forcing communication and teamwork to complete the mission.
Bwahahahaha the "Oh there he is ! Bring Gavin back again"at 38:40 killed me
I never thought I'd say this but I'm getting tired of seeing Burnie get punched in the face.
This was really entertaining, didn't think I would like it but you guys were hilarious!
holy shit fave lets play in a while
More of these PLEASE! So fun to watch ~
Sad they've never played more of this, so funny
Mutons and Codexs with no magnetic weapons?
Goddamit Ryan.
this was so funny
best video in ages, definitely want to see more XCOM Let's Plays!!!!!!!!
I dont care about the game, but I love lets watches, everyone is so vocal in it. Just wish Geoff was in there too.
"That one has a cape, that means it can fly" I died laughing.
I want to play this game but I feel like I'm gonna be shit at it.
+SCRAPPY JUNKYARD True but I have the strategic capabilities of a rock with a Napoleon hat on.
+Patrick Johnson Don't worry about it. It's really not as intimidating as it looks.
+Patrick Johnson everyones shit at it. It's kind of the point of the game.
Did NOT expect to enjoy this video as much as I did. Thanks for the content!
please do more I loved this!!!!!
It made me so happy that they went from not giving a fuck at first to being totally invested and arguing over every move by the end of the video.
Loved this. Really funny!
Keep this going, it was phenomenal to see everyone getting so excited.
Haha, until now I didn't even know they played XCOM! :D
Btw.. one of my soldiers I've named "Flynt 'Regular' Coal" :D
Very very impressed with this!! Really hope you guys make more
I'm at 1:52 at the time of writing this.
They will all die...lol
+William Bugbee I was wrong...lol
+William Bugbee I mean Gavin, Micheal, Jack, and Jeremy died but Ryan survived by being mind controlled so 4 out of 5 ain't so bad
oh my god please play more of this. play it 24/7 for the rest of lets play and possibly the rest of forever.
this was fucking amazing, id love to see alot more of this. maybe full campaign
i dont know much about xcom.. but this looks fun ill have to try this
I'd like to see more of these. This was a really enjoyable Let's Play. Keep it up AH
the result probably would have been very different if michael killed the slug instead of throwing that grenade
This was the best ending to a lets play I've ever seen. I'm still in tears from laughing so hard. God I needed this thank you guys so much
