Reading and writing takes warming up. It's a muscle. Reading gives you so much more, bc there you are allowing the Holy Spirit to interpret it as you read. Your excuse may be a trap, keeping you from REALLY CONNECTING to the text. Never rely on secondary sources if you are serious about it. You can do it. You can read. You can focus. You can become absorbed in the mind of the Author. Nothing stands in your way but your belief. You can walk on water. Why doubt ye?
Don't let anyone condemn you for HEARING the good news instead of reading it. For goodness sake, how dare anyone make it harder to access the good news, laying on burdens without lifting a finger to help. Letters were written to be read out loud to the assemblies. Most people weren't reading, they were hearing! They didn't even HAVE the written letters at first. God bless you. Let no-one steal your joy.

Why did King James write a book on demonology?
I have often heard it rumored that he was a witch or warlock, or worse, but I don't know if that is actually true. However, if he wrote a book on demonology, then it would seem to substantiate the bruited claim, after all.
He wrote that denouncing evil practices of witchcraft Satanist rituals
