I live here in Cadiz and it is Lake Barkley not Kentucky Lake. And the cicadas were very loud. Thank heavens they are not a yearly thing. You did a really nice job on informing people about Prizer Point.
Wow what a great place!!! I love the waterfront sites and will definitely be adding that to our bucket list! Thanks so much for sharing I love your videos and always look forward to the next one
First of all, the bike tours are world famous! I reply on them to determine if it is a place I would want to visit Second, it's the periodical cicadas. Not sure if you ever figured it out but they come out once every 13 or 17 years depending where you are and what brood is in your area. So that is what you are hearing and why there are so many. They waited 17 years to party and will be gone soon
Your bike tours are always great. We are considering a trip to include Kentucky next year and all your videos are helpful for planning. Another great park to consider. Thanks for your efforts.
@@LarryDePoorter hey thanks! Glad you find them helpful! KY has some good campgrounds, nothing really lux or “resort” like, which we personally would really love to have, but overall there’s some decent ones to pick from! Hope you enjoy it when you go!
We stayed at Prizer Point in August 2020 in our former hybrid Rockwood Roo (3 bunk ends) with 8 people (kids ages ranging from 25 to 9). Although the COVID pandemic had affected some of the campground services (restaurant closed) the staff was great and friendly. We were towards the tip of the peninsula, site 45 or 46, shade was limited and the August sun was blazing so we requested a move and the park assigned us to site 54 - the shaded area made a difference. Not sure why, but the flies were relentless - maybe it was the time of the year?!? Overall, the park was nice and offered several things to do and see - swimming, fishing, golf carts, water obstacle course, paddle boats and boards, river barges day and night, etc. After learning our kids aren't too interested in camping, we are now looking forward to taking our new GD Imagine TT and our Lectric ebikes to this KOA in the future after seeing your review - the park seems to have improved!
Oh that’s great to hear! Hope you enjoy it again! There can be a lot of factors on why trips sometimes don’t go as planned. Happens to us too. Overall most campgrounds are actually good experiences, it’s just sometimes a series of unfortunate events can add up to it feeling like it wasn’t so great. Glad to hear you might give it a second chance. ☺️ To be perfectly honest, our first trip there didn’t go great, but it was for several different reasons that didn’t have anything to do with the campground , but this time, even with the flooding, it was a great weekend getaway, and we’ll definitely go again.
Thank you so much!! We appreciate that! Matter of fact, we’ve had an editor now for the last several months! She’s the best! Really really takes so much of the weight off as far as the time it takes to do all this! AND she’s way better at it than we are! ☺️ I’m sure she’ll appreciate the compliments! It takes a team!
Hi, have you been to LAND BETWEEN THE LAKES yet? I used to go fishing and camping their. Lived that place. It has been over 25 years, buit had beautiful camp grounds. Love watching your videos and learning about the places you go to. Thanks for all you do. , Cheri from Massachusetts
It’s a pretty nice KOA! Wait til you see the one we’re at currently in SC! Can’t wait to get this video edited! Where are y’all currently? Need to catch up on your last couple vids!
We've been to LBL LOVED IT! We are from Southern Illinois. Have you ever been to Defeated Creek camp ground in Tennessee. Defeated Creek in our opinion, is beautiful and Very well maintained.
Not that we’re aware of. The Lagoon area is just down a little ways from the marina. They open it in the Summer with jump pads and things. It’s still in the same campground, it’s not a new feature.

Also LBL is across Barkley , Prizer ain't in LBL

Thanks, this will work for my wife and I, we are from Iowa but our daughter and her family live in Kentucky, near Louisville. 😊

We were there that weekend at site 21P. Beautiful Mother's Day weekend!
Oh awesome!! Had we’d known who ya were, we would’ve said hello! Even with all that water, it was a nice weekend!!

Hey thanks so much! Yes, actually we have been there, but it’s been several years. We’re due for a visit back, we really enjoyed it!
Good job 👍

We’ve heard of it several times. Haven’t been yet, might need to put it on our list!
Hillman Ferry is just as nice.

We like that one too! Haven’t been there in years. Probably due for a visit!
Barkley Lake
We just stayed there and had the same issue with the firewood. We tried for an hour and couldn't get the fire going either
Aww man!!! lol Wet firewood is the worst. Did you figure out how to purchase dry wood from the guy up the street?
Hey guys making some reservations down at this KOA. They referenced the new lagoon area… is there a new and old section?

Prizer Point is on Lake Barkley not Kentucky Lake.
We noticed you didn't focus on that snake while you were explaining the dead fish....😢
@@sheryldurrum1894 There were a ton of snakes that weekend. They pretty much stayed in the trees, though. It was kind of fun to watch.
