Hey guys! Note about the performance in this video: As I've seen many of you asking why the performance was low compared to other videos, I looked into it and found that the press release version of the game (with DLSS 3 and FG) is actually more intensive than the current retail build that everyone can play at the moment. I got aroud 5-10+ more fps on the retail version than the version I tested in this video, even under 99% GPU usage on both.
@@fumetsu-950 you're forgetting that this game runs on the PS4, and the PS4 ships with a dinky little mechanical hard drive, so they implemented this feature that streams in assets using the GPU if you've a really slow HDD. If you have a fast enough storage, like an SSD, you can turn this slow HDD mode to off.
@Ms Moon Boo Prior to Patch 1.50, this option was called "Slow HDD Mode" and it didn't have the auto option. You could either set it to on or off. Here, follow the time stamp and take a look for yourself, this is from Digital Foundry: th-cam.com/video/pC25ambD8vs/w-d-xo.html. Please read the description of "HDD mode." In case you're lazy, I'll quote it here for you: "Boosts data loading and crowd activity at the expense of crowd variety, extra loading screens and less street detail while driving fast." Setting this to ON introduces a compromise, you get less detailed street (geometry) and duplicated NPC appearances. One of the biggest challenges of this game's engine is the asset streaming. As for modders recommending setting the "HDD Mode" to ON for high density NPC mods, the reason is simple: they want people to use their mods without taking a significant hit to performance, especially on mid-range or low-end hardware. But in the end, it's a mod, which introduces a lot of variables or behavior that is not representative of the stock game behvaior. When testing Cyberpunk 2077 on a high-end PC with or without mods, on an SSD (which is what a high-end PC should be equipped with, regardless of the variant of the SSD) there is absolutely no reason for you anyone to set the HDD Mode to On or Auto unless you've a bottleneck somewhere else.
This card's insane , but the performance gains in some games are marginal ? I thought it would get 8k60 native on RDr2 , as well as 100+ fps GTA V at your custom settings but it got just barely 60fps avg...
If you have a 3070 or above, or a 6800 or above, and want to run the game native 4k 60: Use the "high" preset, and drop "screen space reflections" and "ambient occlusion" to "low" and it'll hit 60fps fine. I run that on my 6800, or I'll run all "high" settings with FSR on Ultra Quality. But for native 4k, you need to have those 2 settings on low.
I just use optimized settings from dfs vid. Since a lot of options on high make little to no difference. Solid 50-60s at 4k on my 3080 and 3090. And then I use dlss ultra performance if I want that 4k 90-100 fps experience
Crazy! I don't mind DLSS. If I have to pixel peep to find inconsistencies then it's fine for me. 4K Psycho settings with Ray Tracing getting above 60fps is really great. I like what the 4090 brings to the table
Hi Krrysp You should consider trying the complementary reimagined shaders in your minecraft benchmarking. It is really well optimised and it looks better than the regular complementary shaders

I can tell the difference between native and 5K on a 27 inch 1440p monitor. I use to run games on my 1080ti at 5K and at that resolution you can just completely disable all AA because it's so well defined. I can only imagine what 8K would be like on a 4K monitor.
The difference between resolutions is not as much on TH-cam due to the way the capture card grabs and TH-cam compressions, but 100% you can tell the difference on an actual monitor. It's not necessarily a deal breaker, but the sharpness does improve at higher resolution.
I feel like the best way to illustrate the point that you can see the difference between 8K and 4k on a 4k monitor is just the fact that the earliest form of anti-aliasing literally was running a game at a higher resolution and then scaling it down to the native resolution of the monitor.

Hey Krispy, I was watching some videos about the Ltt error on the 4090 video, some people was saying that you need to enable fsr and DLSS, then disable it, because it will stay enable sometimes, video maravilhoso :D
1. if u have 4090 u will have oled and good oleds are 120hz. 2. DLSS looks imo a little better on quality/balance than native with sharpness slider on 0.7-1 depends on screen. 3. on tv with controller there is no way u will se any dlss artifacts or even framegen ones u can really only see them on very thin objects and its on monitors so on TV i will not believe u can see it. 4. Playing this game without RT at least (u really shoud aim for pathtracing its bossible to balace settings pretty well) game looks just so much better, or should i say games looks horrible without it.
When they first announced this i was hoping graphics mods would come why haven't they been made yet that would be really push this monster card on 4k I think

Question: for a 3080ti is it worth jumping from i9 9900k to a i9 12900k for using 1440p or would it be pointless and not much difference, in other words does my 9900k bottleneck the 3080ti at 1440p???

Could it be a CPU bottleneck? Even though native 4K is usually always GPU bound. I have seen other videos testing 4090 at native 4K ultra settings, and it’s 60+ FPS most of the time. They had an R9 7950X, though.
@@zWORMzGaming Yh that area your in is intensive, I have seen a few TH-camrs also test it in that area and they were getting 60+ FPS all time at native 4K ultra settings. It’s strange that you are getting such low FPS. Even in the more demanding areas should not be that low. I think it’s the CPU holding it back. Even at native 4K ultra.
@@zWORMzGaming Yh. If you upgrade to a Zen 4 or Raptor Lake CPU, then it should improve your performance by quite a bit, even at native 4K ultra, and then you should be getting 60+ FPS all the time at native 4K ultra. That's been the case with most other videos I have watched.
Can anyone EXPLAIN this? At 4k Ultra here it averages at 54 Fps only whereas my friend's 6950 XT currently averages at 50 fps and I have seen 3090 Ti averaging at 51 Fps. So 4090 is only 3 to 4 Fps faster than a 6950 XT and 3090 Ti at 4k Ultra?? Now here's the catch 7900 XTX at Max settings averages at 79 Fps at native 4k and claimed by AMD that it is 1.7 times faster than the 6950 XT. How is this possible? 54 Fps for 4090 and 79 Fps for 7900 XTX. (I can only think they are using the High settings) But still why 4090 averages at only 3-4 fps more than a 3090 Ti or 6950 XT.
I jumped back onto this game. I noticed that light flickering stuff and pop in in the distance that I don’t remember playing this game before. Originally I played it at 1440p on a 3070. I was trying to play it at 4K/dlss balanced and performance on a 3080 but man it just doesn’t feel great. It’s probably gonna be a few gpu gena before I can run this game the way I want it to. Also I’m willing to bet the frame gen lag is less noticeable on controller.
I have RTX 4090 with my new Ryzen 7 5800X3D and think about posible bottleneck for GPU usage (70%-80%) and have 50-55 fps in some areas with RT Psyco and DLSS Quality , but after see your video ... I think its engine problem of Cyberpunk 2077. For me, changing DLSS Quality to Performance for example, doesnt change FPS...

I have a 144hz 4K monitor, the dell g3223q but the capture card only supports 4K at 60 :) Considered those TVs actually but since I'm always benchmarking the OSD would probably burn-in

You should get higher fps (70+) at 4k ultra (rt off/dlss off). See results of trusted reviewers like jayztwocents , linus, they were all getting 75-80 fps average.
They don't do in game benchmarks. They do Built in benchmarks. Totally different experience. I trust reviewers like this over Those other guys who get paid by corporations for reviews.
I know this wasn't the point of the video at all, but i just wanted to say, that i have been playing cyberpunk since release on pc, and i have never seen any bugs like that falling truck. The most i saw was characters going through me at times, (and that was around release) now on the newest patch, i literally see no bugs whatsoever

When testing Cyberpunk 2077, make sure you set the "Slow HDD mode" to "OFF" instead of "Auto." The Auto setting doesn't really do a good job.

Sometimes it's like 30% faster than 3090Ti, other times it's almost double. It averages to around 60% faster :)
Why does it need dlss though, I thought it could do 60 fps on 8k native on ultra

I have a 3060 and I don’t really understand the appeal of dropping 3k on a video card that only has 40 fps more. I run Cyberpunk at RT Ultra 50-60

Ngl, Complementary shaders looks better than well-known SEUS, BSL, Oceano and times more optimised. For me those shaders - closest to RTX.

TH-cam compression is so terrible that it's pretty hard to tell if there are any artefacts using frame generation, I certainly couldn't see any.

It does bottleneck in some games, but it's still a great CPU, it should be capable of playing everything out there just fine :)

The CPU is a slight bottleneck sometimes. But I just test in a different area, more intensive than what most people test :)
Cpu is not even maxed out, so its most likely not a cpu bottleneck

This is why the 4000 series are just 3000 series cards with added DLSS3.0 and FG. From 8K max 1fps to 8K Max 40fps,,,, that's where it sells.
These new techniques that are being created are great, but honestly I feel that frame generation, dlss are going to become excuses are games to have poor optimisation in the future
Or an excuse for Nvidia to barely increase native performance like we are seeing on “mid range” cards

You should not check those higher resolutions 4k is enough.

8K with DLSS UP is ok if you have 8K TV, but only in that case. Otherwise 4K is the way to go.

what monitor do u use? or TV? only 60hz. Any LG C1 or C2 is around 700-800 usd, and its 4k120. i know is not that cheap, but u have 2k$ dollar card :D

but the capture card only supports 4K at 60 :)

You should get higher fps (70+) at 4k ultra (rt off/dlss off). See results of trusted reviewers like jayztwocents , linus, they were all getting 75-80 fps average.

They don't do in game benchmarks. They do Built in benchmarks. Totally different experience. I trust reviewers like this over Those other guys who get paid by corporations for reviews.

I know this wasn't the point of the video at all, but i just wanted to say, that i have been playing cyberpunk since release on pc, and i have never seen any bugs like that falling truck. The most i saw was characters going through me at times, (and that was around release) now on the newest patch, i literally see no bugs whatsoever

Is your benchmark tested with resize bar enabled or disabled ? And also did you enable pob2 for your Ryzen Cpu ?
