People should probably understand that this is not meant to be a remake, but a remix of the song.
Sometimes remixes are even better than the original, even if it switches the genre completely! Personally i liked the remake of 'getting away with murder' (2020) more than the original!

The thing that I enjoyed the most is the back story of this. I mean, it must be awesome to be in your room doing random shit and suddenly a message from Papa Roach appears in your mailbox saying that the video you uploaded on TikTok of Last Resort is dope and they wanna work with you. This kind of artists deserve nothing but love.

Jacoby wrote the original about his best friend and his struggles with depression and suicidal thoughts; listening to both versions back to back, I think of this one as the triumphant anthem of someone overcoming those dark thoughts with a more lively beat and themes of success throughout the lyrics of the reloaded version.

I just wish Johnson would be more audible with his singing in parts. Almost came off as mumbling and I count make out most of what he was saying in the 1st half

I love the original but this one is a fucking banger. People have issues with separating reality with their own personal beliefs or perception. They’ll compare the two without even realizing it. It’s a huge human fallacy that makes forward progress so fucking difficult. You can still appreciate the past but also understand things change and you can enjoy the new path it takes without being bitter because it’s not the original.

Honestly, Jeris is a brilliant musician to be able to bring together so many artists from different generations. And he's incredibly talented.

Loved the original when it was first released and got to see Papa Roach a few times live, they was awesome everytime. This new reloaded version is pretty awesome and love how well the other guy did with this, it gave it new life to be honest.
Love the classics are making a major comeback with a modern take . Nothing will replace the original but this makes me happy seeing these old songs blasting in speakers again.
Too bad modern music sucks ass. So basically they're covering an ice cream with diarrhea sauce.
It's not really a dark or desperate song like the original. The melody and the tempo is more rebellious, more anarchist, almost funky or poppy. I would go so far as to say in parts it almost sounds up beat. Which doesn't necessarily fit the desperation, anguish, dispair and angst of the original lyrics. But it's a cool remix. Clean, modern and pays a solid homage to the original. Nice work to Papa Roach and Jeris Johnson for putting this together during such difficult times.

Jacoby the front man of Papa Roach and the other band members are the coolest and friendliest rock and rollers of any band I've ever seen live. They are rock and roll. They put their heart into their music every time every performance. And they treat you like family. One example. I took my daughters to see Papa Roach perform a few times and I don't remember how but we became friends with Jacoby. One time at a concert in Vegas. I was in line at the hard Rock waiting to get into the room where they were performing. And Jacoby saw me and ask me where my wife and children were. I said my wife is gambling and my children couldn't make it to the show because it was 18 and up. And they weren't 18 years old yet. And Jacoby was sad and said oh I wish I could see them. Call them on the phone I'd like to talk to them. As I dialed my daughter's phone she answered the phone and Jacoby grabbed my phone and said hey it's Jacoby. I wish you could be here. Let's hook up after the show. And then after the show I met and hung out with Jacoby at The rainbow club across the street from the hard Rock casino. I had my in-laws bring my daughter over. And we took pictures and hang out with Jacoby for a good hour. Also the other band members were there. What a bitching guy. You can tell he loves his work. He's always smiling on stage. He is metal He's rock and roll. And he adds a little extra to it little edge. A little hip hop attitude. But he's metal. Heavy metal rock and roll and hip. Thank you Jacoby. Thank you Papa Roach. My favorite band in the world. I like to see some cohabs with you and ghost, avenged sevenfold, metallica, machine gun kelly, die antwoord, and I'd like to see you do in Las Vegas residency. Maybe 2 weeks a year

I listened to this on Spotify assuming it was going to be some kind of remaster. Last resort is one of the songs that changes you. And honestly this reloaded is awesome! It brings the same energy I felt when I first heard last resort as a child.
Got to say it was a genius move for you guys to embrace this "new" take on your song, rather than trying to sue him for daring to cover your song (looking at you Eagles). Instead of making the news for being jerks, you got a lot of younger people who are fans of this Jeris dude hearing more about Papa Roach. ;)
