Gold, Silver and Crystal were set a few years after Blue, Red, and Yellow. We can assume Janine is Koga's daughter or something like that, Koga managed to achieve Elite Four status, so Janine took his place as Gym Leader. If you played Gold, Silver, Crystal, Heart Gold or Soul Silver, you would know that after Red defeated Team Rocket and Giovanni, he went into hiding. Blue, after his defeat while Champion, probably saw that Viridian was in need of a Gym Leader, and decided to stay there.
@zep4t4n If you watched the previous episodes you'd know that you must defeat all 8 Johto gyms and defeat the Elite 4 and the Champion Lance to unlock the Kanto gym leader castle.
@Hayastantzi92 Not always lol. But considering you can use alot more Pokemon then in the 1st Stadium and the 1st Gen it's alot harder to chose so that's why some of the time I'll cut the part of me picking the Pokemon and get to my finished selection. Sometimes I can be quick to pick them and other times not just because you can select more Pokemon.
I always take my time with selecting my Pokemon because there's an element of strategy in the Kanto Gym Castle that isn't really there in the Johto Castle (Unless you're battling Jasmine, Pryce, or Clair). The Kanto Leaders are much more crafty I've noticed
@MusicF4n If you take notice these Gym Leaders or most of them anyway use Pokemon like Misty did. Misty used a couple Grass types and a Ground type. So yea you can't just pick them all of the same type thinking you'll win.
My friend and I had a hell of a time with Brock in this game. Even though we went in with the recommended rental team we found in a guide (Sadly, we had no access to GBC Pokes), we still had to come up this really convoluted and complex strategy of switching between two Pokemon, using certain moves with each and I don't remember the rest, all of this because Brock kept switching out like there was no tomorrow. It was freaking ridiculous!
I love how the surf board pops outta nowhere for pikachu's surf xD
love how the yellow pikachu is different:D
Awsome as always Zephyr, ur walkthroughs r really nice
I'm curious to why you didn't give your Pikachu Light Ball.
Isnt that gen 4 only?
I love how there is zero audio after he wins.

@xxxDarkAngelFrankxxx
Well you already know that the Light Ball doubles Pikachu's Special Attack stat so I didnt want to make it that easy.
