That has to be a first for me watching a team of horses pulling a new style V rake. I guess just a battery to run the hydraulic pump. Great to see horses out there getting some exercise to keep them fit, I can bet they enjoy it too. Thanks for video.
I love all of y'all's videos but I must say the horses are my favorite. It's just something about seeing well trained horses doing what they were trained to do. Thanks for sharing that! Blessings to you and your family!
It's nice to see how Horses was a important back in the day. I've logged with Horses. Never much more then that. Thanks for sharing. Was great to see this.
I've been wondering if we were going to see those beautiful horses work. That's called working for your food. Thanks for bringing me along. Be safe and God bless
Saw Justin and Alan's Dad at the Orange Spectacular, talked to Justin for a minute on the wagon coming from the field demo's. That was a neat surprise.
How did you lift the rake up without a motor on it or did I miss something? It looked like it was raised hydraulically pulled behind the horses. Or was the PTO plugged in behind the tail😂
I'm sorry for asking so many questions, but I a lot of questions about dairy farming. So if your dad is making hay for horses and beef cattle and you keep your heifers at his farm, does that mean you have to take feed over there every day or do you store what you need to feed them at his farm? If you have to take it there every day then that can't be easy in winter especially with snow and ice.
These horses are extremely well cared for. That rake is not too heavy for them. Apparently you didn't notice them trying to trot while pulling it and Leonard slowed them down so they don't get too tired out. Your ignorance about working horses is very apparent.
Please keep making this content!! Love it!!
Love watching the old horse drawn equipment working
The future of farming looks bright with these innovations

Great video love watching them horses 🐎
I could feel the tranquility. Life may not have been easy years ago, but it sure was a lot less complicated. Please stay safe, and God bless.
Haymaking with horses belongs to the most enjoyable activities on the farm. Nice teams!
Thanks for sharing, always enjoy the horses working the old equipment.
Beautiful team, always liked the tan and white mane.
❤😊 Thanks Mom and Dad for the VIDEO OF THE HORSE'S❤😊
Grandpa use to lift the tail and say " the PTO goes there " ... 😊
😂
😂 🐴
Wouldn't that be the exhaust!😂
I started with a side delivery rake and when I got a rollabar I thought I was in 7th. heaven
You all are my favorite farming channel. I look forward to all of your videos. God bless you all , even though it is clearly obvious that He has.
Now that is work

Always enjoy watching the horses work. I forgot that the old side delivery rake could be reversed and used as a tedder. Great content! Thanks!
I never knew some of the old rakes teddes hay Great video thanks
Love these types of videos, so cool to see.

Very nice job and God bless y'all with many more
A very nice set of horses there 👌 😊😊😊😊
Awesome content!
Great video, but be careful: To many people with smartphones think that all farmers should still be using horses! Great looking team!👍
Brother in Christ YOUR videos

That's cool!
Nice work was that rake modified to spread the hay out. Good idea using a 12 volt hydraulic pump on the hay rake for windrows . Have a great day.
Some of those old rakes were made to work both ways.
I want that hay rake. I have the exact same one, and it’s perfect for tedding, mines starting to get worn out.
In my area when we got rain and could raise hay , we did not have to ted it.
Need to get a hay loader for the horses.
Thanks for the video mom, oops, Alan's mom.
Love❤❤
Horsepower right there😎🫡
He must have double u joints on that baler. I can't turn that short with my Vermeer baler.
Yeah it has a double joint
So quiet. I remember that from my childhood…..before we traded horses for a tractor. Feeding the tractor wasn’t as fun as feeding the horses.
How long does it take, roughly, to fluff and rake an acre?
Yesterday I did 8 acres in a little over 2 hours.

The heifers are only there for the summer because they have a lot of extra pasture, otherwise I keep them at home.
Where was this and who's equipment
This is at my parents farm, with their equipment.
@@trinitydairy thank you
Is that a special rake or could all bar rakes do both? We had bar rakes but I never knew they could do both.
Some of those old ones were made that way. Some were just rakes.
Does the V rake pull pretty hard?
Not really
That one is pretty light and has bigger tires than Alan's, it pulls pretty easy
Was that New Idea doing the tedding and raking?
Yes
Leonard are you making hay for your horses or for your cattle and Alan's heifers? I mean, don't horses eat a different type of hay than cows?
This is for his horses and beef cows. With the ground being so wet for so long, the hay got old, but it's fine for his horses and cows.
That rake is too heavy for those horses. What are you guys torture them for?

That outfit has only got Two Horsepower. I want more power. Lol 😆 🤣
