"TERRA: Fernando Casasempere" is on view at The San Diego Museum of Art April 29 through September 5, 2022. The exhibition reflects on the urgency of the environmental crisis in which we find ourselves. Using earth as both medium and subject, "TERRA: Fernando Casasempere" is an exploration of landscape, architecture, and history with a foreboding sense of environmental collapse. Creating vibrant colors from waste produced from mining and drilling in Chile, the artist uses exploratory methods and unglazed ceramics to create stable structures that appear to be teetering on the edge of destruction.
