Gorgeous! Ordering one now. I can finally ditch my TPBs. I wonder why they failed to put gold or silver leaf on the lettering of the actual book cover and spine? I noticed that with the golden age Superman and Batman omnis also. I always take the dust jacket off when I'm actually reading a book.
Great review as always! Interesting to see how the style regressed from beatufil art needing little dialogue in the beginning to the heavy dialogue pages in the later issues
So great. LOVE this book. Great Vid man. Can't wait till Volume 2 because that will be the start of Moore's run. Can't believe they managed to have EVERY issue right before Moore in one volume. super exciting.
I love the swamp thing comics as well. I have the Roots of the Swamp Thing that collects the first 13 issues of the original run, and some time ago I found all 6 of the Alan Moore paperback volumes at my local Barnes & Noble. I’ve been thinking seriously about picking this omnibus up.
Thanks for this overview. I really enjoy all of them that you do. I would greatly appreciate an overview of the Adam Strange Omnibus from DC, if you have it. I am curious as to your take given the time frame and your attitudes toward sci-if and the various artists and storytellers.
I've got yer extras right here...Black Page! Just ordered this and can't wait for it. And Seriously, an absolute Alan Moore Swamp Thing... I've got the vapors! This is a wonderful volume. I've hesitated on a few DC omnibuses because of binding concerns but this is very a well done sewn binding. Sturdy. The paper quality is of a higher standard than recent Marvel editions as well.
I was going to skip this omnibus but decided to pick it up after watching this. Managed to find a copy on Amazon for $66. Super excited. I'll bet dollars to donuts that we get an Alan Moore Swamp Thing omnibus in the next couple years. The real question is will we get a Swampy collection for the writers that proceeded Moore?
Omnidog's Vault the fact that this set is considered "Vol.1" tells me that this series is continuing. Now if we can get a Shade The Changing Man omnibus.
Nice book, would LOVE if DC put out a volume 2 or even 3 collecting the Moore stuff. I have the OHC but would love a book similar to this Omni in both size and spine to complement it
THE ALAN MOORE SWAMP THING run, for DC, IS readily available: just bought it myself, from Amazon. The only fly in the ointment: ya have to buy six different trade paper-type collections, about 200 pages or so, each. But(!!!) you CAN read Moore's Swamp Thing run in it's entirety, and you can get it easily (as of Oct. 2017).
I bought this a few months ago, but then returned it after a day. I read Swamp Thing #3, and he uses profanity. In the panel where the lab vials break, he says something that surprised me. I know the Bronze Age edited the CCA, but I still thought the CCA had a no profanity rule. For those that don't have the book or want to know what it is without looking, it rhymes with jam. I write this in case someone has a perspective I don't understand, and to also inform people who may purchase it to be advised.
Really? You returned this book because a character said "damn"?? How old are you? Do you realize what year you're in? Hint: It is not 1939. Gone With the Wind did not just release in theaters, and the word "damn" is not a big deal. I'm not even sure "damn" can even qualify as legitimate profanity anymore. Anyway. Good luck out there, dude.
I love all the bronze, silver, and golden age omnibouses. Glad you reviewed it's now going on my wish list.

Subscribed and clicked the bell. I wanted to listen to something Swamp Thing related while sketching Swamp Thing as a gift and found your channel.
Thank you for the review. Very well done, appreciate it!
thank you for watching!!
Thanks for reviewing this Jess. It needed to be done!
Great review as always! Interesting to see how the style regressed from beatufil art needing little dialogue in the beginning to the heavy dialogue pages in the later issues
good observation!
Great review, art does look amazing will have to pick this up.

Happy to do it!
thanks for this review, it was very helpful. I am more interested in swamp thing's early stories, far more then the later ones

charles collins YESSS!!! Shade omnibus would be amazing!
Great review! I was wondering if you could do an overview of the superman golden age omnibus (if you own it)?
I have them all so far, I'll do an overview of them tomorrow!
Does this omnibus include phantom strangers stories, that were after Swamp Thing adventures in some single issues?
No it does not, that would be cool to see those collected though!
Ordered this yesterday. Can't wait to get it!

5 years later and still no Alan Moore omnibus!
Wow you got it already mines still in the mail 😐 thanks for the overview 💯
Paper quality Baxter or glossy inside omnidog ?

Awesome watch
Thank you Zack!!
@@OmnidogsVault love the reviews i definitely need this omnibus for sure

Im not a big of the plain black actual book cover either but the content looks great. Awesome video
Thanks! I'm not a fan of that either, but the contents are pretty cool
Where did you buy that watch? It's awesome
Thanks, it's an old Swatch watch.
Really cool! I will track that book down when I can.
thanks Geekdom, I'm just happy you're ok!
Thx and have a great day.
Was Wes Craven there in the credits?
Does this contain the issues that features the challengers of the unknown?
no
Omnidog's Vault Oh that's a shame because the description on amazon said so. Thanks for replying
There was only one swamp thing omnibus...?
so far, but a Nancy Collins one is due in April
This is what I grew up with.
Where might one find the elusive ‘Frost Top’ root beer?
My best advice is to go to frostop.com and email them where it is distributed in your area. Or you can order it off of Amazon...
Omnidog's Vault Ordering it from Amazon will take too long. My thirst must be quenched! (Thanks for the advise, though)
I just said to the Missus, "I gotto get me some Frostop because Omnidog keeps making me thirsty." No joke.
Retrospectively, you have predicted the Absolutes... so to speak. Haha.
Hahaha! Sort of!
@@OmnidogsVault good point. Let's wait until those books actually comes out. I can't take any more of cancellations of good books.
Just picked this up 😊😊
Wooooooooooo!
Nice omniview!
thanks!

I hope you not respecting other’s opinions is a joke. “Lol”.

Only 95% of your audience loves Todd McFarlane's writing? What's wrong with the other 5%? I'm shocked.
Mikileenee
Awesome art. The writing is typical 60's and 70's nonsense.
