we have come to find boomer is not your ordinary cat but we still love him yes my surgery went well I have been relaxing all day and continuing ice pack so its going to be a lot of rest and ice and then physical therapy and hopefully good as new love you too
yes it is a pretty fancy ice pack but it is a pain in the butt every time I had to get up to go to the bathroom I would have to wake Kevin up to unhook me so I could get out of bed and go so I just went back to using my regular ice packs they work just as well
Kevin talking about food before your surgery made me remember when I had my ankle surgery. I was starving and thirsty like you and all the nurses kept talking about getting pizza for lunch. I finally spoke up and said I wanted some. They said they would save me a piece and they did. They brought it to me in recovery. Lol
That is so funny Tonya yes Kevin was very mean teasing me like that but I got something to eat afterwards and I couldn't even finish it my mouth was so dry it felt like I was eating paste Val

Hey Val, glad to see you made it through surgery without any complications or surprises. That's always a good thing. Hope you heal quickly and hope your pain is minimal. I imagine you'll be really sore after the anesthesia wears off. But maybe fancy cooling machine will help keep your pain and swelling under control. I need one of those contraptions for my back, hips, and legs. I get tired of filling up ice bags all the time. LOL God bless you and I will keep you in my prayers. Oh, I better pray for Kevin too. I like your cooling contraption there .. that is pretty cool and it seems a lot more convenient and effective than your standard ole ice pack. After I had my open heart I wasn't allowed to get my chest incision wet because they put this medicated gauze on it as it wasn't doing well at 1st and it wasn't allowed to get water on it. Well after just having open heart surgery and my chest being wired closed you can imagine bending over the tub was not in the cards... so what we did to wash my hair is exactly what Kevin suggested ( hose out in the backyard. ) LoL ( And just my hair .. lol I took sponge baths inside.. hahaha ) I sat in the chair and tilted my head backwards and my hubby washed it for my with the hose. It worked out Great !! I washed my hair like that for 2 weeks. LoL So No Shame girl .. do what ya gotta do right. LoL I hope today is a good day for you.. Get lots of rest. ~ Wendy

Lol ya'll are separated with a wall of polar bear's. How cute is that.... You do half heart and your hubby completes it. Hoping that you get a good nights rest with the help of pain meds and all. Looks very uncomfortable.
yes we have a barrier pillow a basket of remotes and candy and a wall of polar bears lol yes all the animals seem to be concerned on how I am doing but I am doing fine heaven is taking really great care of me sea ice contraction sing was just getting in the way every time I had to go to the bathroom I would have to wake Kevin up so we just went back to using my ice pack it was very difficult sleeping last night even with pain meds I just could not find a comfortable position but today was just relaxing and ice all day long hugs Val

Kevin is really good to me he made me a nice breakfast this morning and she didn't do any work today other than computer stuff so he was able to sit with me all day and watch movies and get me ice packs and get me food when I wanted something so yes he made up for teasing me about eating yesterday when I wasn't able to hope you have a good evening too love you
You have a hubby - all you need is a wash tub and a bench - oh and a pitcher... God I hate cotton mouth. I forget the pills, but they worked better than the T4's but gave me a dry mouth I could not tolerate. Oh good God. No wonder you can't feel nothing. A nerve block is a big thing. Kind of hard to do it. Takes a lot of skill. B.P. cups and plus sized people don't mix - EVER. I think I feel the same right now - looped that is. I just found out the Lasix don't mix with whisky. Holly cow I am intoxicated. Not making this mistake again...
yes Dave I have a wonderful husband who has offered many times to take me in the back yard and hose me down but I think I can find better ways to bath yes I kept telling them the blood pressure cuff was too tight but they didn't listen so I have marks on my arm oh well and nerve block worked really really well except it made my whole side of my face and neck numb not so much my arm and it didn'last the 24 hours they said it was supposed to anyway yes you should not mix that with whiskey I'm sure you are pretty intoxicated right now as well feel better Val
