@@AhlamAcademy Masmoudi Saghir has a slighly different pattern with 2 dums at the beginning: dum dum take tak dum take tak take. Masmoudi Kebir has 3 dums at the beginning: dum dum dum take dum take take take. Anyways both are 8/4 count rhythms (it takes 8 fingers to count all the parts of these rhythms). :)

The same is true for Baladi (4-4) and Masmoudi Saghir (8-4). I see that these two rhythms are always being mixed up by Western drummers and dancers.
As I understand them, they are Baladi (also called Masmoudi Saghir) 4/4 and Masmoudi Kebir 8/4.
