Man your youtube channel is a gold mine to troubleshoot faulty PS5. And the way you find faults is chirurgical, i'm always happy when i see that your post a new video.
You explaining your diagnostics as you walk through the procedure is what I and many others seem to love about your channel. Very informative. Thank You. And GOD BLESS.
Man I gotta tell you I'm browned off watching PS5s and Nintendos being repaired. Last time I played a video game was Atari 40 years ago so I don't know why I watch. Would love to see you using your talent to fix useful things 😊
If you have a bad Ram ssd controller you can see it fire up when apply 12V 1amp with thermal cam also a boot sequense of 150 to 250 is something related to ssd. Great video as always.
@@ToltecMerc thank you for the prompt reply. I see the KP184 comes with wire and the terminal connectors. But i don't see connectors for the opposite end your connecting direct to the ps5 psu. Where did you source those if you dont mind me asking?
It's shutting down. It could be so many things. RAM, SSD, a shorted power rail, APU....you would need to read the UART codes to find out what area to look it.
I slowly raise the preheater temperature from 120C to about 200C. Over several minutes. I have a temperature sensor stuck in a hole near the chip I am replacing. I normally wait until the board temperature measures about 100C and the I apply 400C from above with my hot air station. The amount of time needed for heating from above varies between leaded and lead-free solder balls. After about 1 minute you should be able to nudge the chip and see if it snaps back.
ToltecMerc, I'm addicted to your videos keep them flowing
Thank you! I'll do my best to make more!
@@ToltecMerc What microscope are you using? I'm looking to switch to a nicer one than I have now (ADSM302)
Masterclass repair for a tricky fault, great job !

Great fix as usual! I still need to practice on my BGA!
Well done mate, great fix. The method you use to explain and teach is what makes the videos extremely valuable. Thank you for the knowledge as always!
Thank you very much Joey and congratulations on the 70K subscribers! Well deserved!

I suppose I'm not for everyone. I work on what I enjoy and at the moment that is game consoles. I do appreciate you watching though!

Never lost faith, I knew you would find the cause and fix it. Thank you for the video.
You are quite welcome!

You are very welcome! Thanks for taking the time to watch and comment!
Another professional job,
I thought the DDR 4 is married to the Apu and another few chips!
Well done.
@@Console_Tech no the DDR4 is not married to anything. It is completely volatile storage so when the power is cut it forgets everything.
@@ToltecMerc thank you for the explanation
Long time since your last upload, good way you fix stuff i love it❤
It's been a couple of weeks! Thanks for sticking around!
Nice job at the process of elimination. But, I had faith you were going to solve this. As you are the Man! Cheers!
Thanks! That's kind of you to say!
That was a strange one. Great Repair and Video. Looking forward to your next one. Thank You.
Thanks! I'm glad you liked it!
Excellent and process finding root cause well worked out. Great to watch too.
Thank you! Glad you enjoyed it!
Great job as always! You never let us down. I am thinking about buying the Kunkin KP184 you use. What do you think of the overall performance?
Thank You! I love my Kunkin! I guess there are fancier units out there but it has not let me down yet while testing PS5 supplies.

Nice video! I would inject 1.2v on the rail and spot hot components with thermal camera to speed up the process
@@afb9999 I did inject. No current draw.
Another masterful job!
Thanks so much!
great repair again

Hello Master How Are You, i wish you the happyness in your life and i like your work 😊
Thank you! I am well and I am enjoying much happiness!
That chip is DRAM for the controller and it stores the mapping tables. Just like PC SSD.
That's good to know! Thanks!
Good job mate 👏

Dude you’re a fucking god
That's very kind of you! I'm just a tech having fun!
Looks like it’s usually an SSD controller issue when the ps5 doesn’t boot up according to 3 of your videos. Is that accurate?
@@bluetorque2385 that is a common failure but so is the South Bridge.
Could I possibly send my PS5 to you? I have the exact same issue.
I have exact same boot sequence but mine is just beeping ones then blue light and turning off (EDM-033). Any idea whats wrong ?
It's shutting down. It could be so many things. RAM, SSD, a shorted power rail, APU....you would need to read the UART codes to find out what area to look it.
can you tell us the temperature of the preheater and hot air when you replace ssd , Southbridge

Great job , you can put a link for your tools to earn money 💰
True. I just haven't been very focused on making money which is why I don't accept sponsors or do paid reviews. Not yet anyway.
