Middle aged woman adding on--this is NOT NEW for Prince. Just that videos that told a story didn't really start until MJ's Thriller. But Prince had yummy sexy songs before this and all along. If you're old enough, you remember the albums Dirty Mind, Controversy, and 1999 (even Purple Rain, Around the World In A Day, Parade, and LoveSexy) that put this stuff to SHAME, actually makes the 90s stuff kinda lame in comparison. Some gems from the 80's-- Dirty Mind, Sister, International Lover, Lady Cab Driver, Do Me Baby, Sexuality, Annie Christian, Tambourine, the classics Darling Nikki and Erotic City (latter featuring Sheila E. before her solo work), and this is just to name a very few (and not even mention the songs he wrote for others-Nasty Girl, Screams of Passion, Ice Cream Castles, etc.) FYI.

There are many videos of live performances doing, for instance, Head, where he is hella suggestive and explicit.
Additionally, I don't remember exactly what was said, but Prince was synonymous with "suggestive and explicit," particularly earlier in his career. My apologies if whatever you said makes it clear that you are aware of that.
