Welcome to my new Survival series, on the beautiful forestry map Holmakra created by PixelFarm & Oscar_8599.
In this series, I am starting with absolutely no money, a plot of land, a trusty Ford F250 pickup truck, a trailer and a chainsaw. The plan, loosely, is to build a big farm. But I have to have money for that! And tractors....and tools....oh, and a combine...and....well, you see where I'm going with this! Need money. Lot's of it!
So please join me on my journey from having lot's of splinters in my hands due to logging, to hopefully, a big. beautiful working farm!

Shame about the Azura series but totally agree with your decision. FS would not be half the game without the amazing modders and the content they take the time and effort to make for us all to enjoy. Looking forward to watching this series. Great work again mate. Chris

"We have this chainsaw"...looks an awful like another item...we'll just say that's to get food...also this map reminds me a bit of places I've been growing up. Most of my time around forests was in the Black Hills of South Dakota, and what little bit of density here now in northwest Ohio. My PC cant handle Minecraft, American Truck Simulator, Farm Sim, World of Warships & Gold Rush at the same time so when i get back to farm sim I'll be sure to play on this map.
Hey Orion! Yeh it's pretty amazing how certain maps can bring back memories of places we've been in real life. I'd certainly recommend this map to anyone wanting to start a Farm Sim save with a completely 'blank' canvas. It's a beauty!
I wanna replicate this scenario, do you know how I can do it ? I have the map I can start with zero with the easy dev mod but how can I pick wich lan I own for the start? thanks
Hey Ben! If you've got Easy Dev then start with a load of money, buy the plot(s) of land you'd like to start with in the map PDA farmland mode, then just Easy Dev the money out of your account so you're at zero again :)
Love the video but I’m wanting to do my own survival role play with my friends. How do you get the trucks and equipment all chipped and weathered
Hey Ryan! If you're on PC you can use the Easy Developer Mod, which gives you a huge amount of options to alter just about everything in the game to how you want it. If you are on console, I'm pretty sure you are limited to just using your equipment for ages until it starts to appear that way 'naturally'
I've played Holmakra on FS19 and that version did have existing arable land. They must have removed it for this version? Is there a way you could terrace that huge slope once you've cleared it? I imagine the potential for significant soil erosion would be high.
Hey Jacksarge Painting! Yes it would seem the map makers intended Holmakra FS22 to be a forestry map so removed any fields. But we can change that! The plan I've got with that hillside is to plow it under and create my first field. The terracing is a cool idea, might prove a bit tricky for the tractors and combines in the future though haha! 👍
5:49 my rule I like to go by on universal autoload is that I must do the job manually once. So I must have the equipment.

Thankyou very much L Family Gaming Dad! Really appreciate your kind words mate! Yeh I do like your autoload rule! Although for this map I’d have needed the big logging equipment, and watching me use that stuff would be like watching a dog do a Rubik’s cube haha! Painful!
It is a really lovely map though mate, highly recommend it. Adds a good bit of a challenge with there being very few ‘flat’ areas of land for the usual field styles.

awesome thanks man. one more question how did you start with 0 money. when i do start from scratch its gives me 500k plus a bunch of equipment. i love this video btw im going to watch all the seriews.@@Farmer-Sim
@@bendurie9851 cheers mate that’s very kind! So glad you’re enjoying it so far! To start with 0 you can either use the Easy Development Tools mod to remove/add money or you can edit the .xml file in windows, both of these assuming you’re on PC again of course :)

Apologies mate, I certainly don't mean to repeat myself. Being relatively new to this I'm still trying to find my comfort zone with narrating as I play. I don't create a script or anything I just go with what I'm doing at the time. Appreciate your feedback though TUD I'll try and be a bit more mindful about that as I progress in the future 👍
