Thanks for the video! Just for anyone else frustrated with this, I don't get the same screens as shown in the video. If you see an option that says "View Summary" on the upper right, click that and you'll (hopefully) get the list of vendors who were tracked for 1099s.
I am having to run this report with custom dates and I can't figure out how to change the dates - I am like one of the other commenters that didn't get the same screen where you clicked Prepare 1099 so I'm assuming its already set up. I can click on View Summary though and it pulls up all the transactions but no way to edit the dates. When I go to the Reports screen and click 1099 Transaction Detail Summary it shows all vendors as a $0.00
QuickBooks has recently updated the 1099 preparation process. You now go to Vendors -> Prepare 1099s -> Confirm and start filing. At that point it should be similar to what's in the video.

I had this problem last year and did it all by hand... Called QBO for assistance and nobody suggested this! This fixed my problem! Thank you!

Thanks for this note! Different versions of QB can look a little different, plus QB is constantly testing changes that not everyone sees.

I followed your steps but when I clicked taxes then 1099 I didn’t get the option to click on anything. My report is blank how can I correct this?
