- Here's the story of a fun train ride I got to take recently at an event put on by the Northwest Railway Museum in Snoqualmie, Washington.
Kids were very excited by the ride because at the front of the train was Thomas The Tank Engine... a full-sized very real-looking (but totally un-powered) version of the famous locomotive from the TV series.
I was excited by the ride because it took us to the museum's train shed, where we all had a chance to look around at some historic old railroad equipment... including some restored steam trains. Also, it was fun to see the old railway equipment such as freight cars, snow blowers, and abandoned locomotives that were alongside the tracks.
Going in to it, I really didn't know what route our ride would take us on... so, it was a total surprise to me when our train ended up alongside the Snoqualmie River and we passed right by the famous waterfall known as Snoqualmie Falls. However, trees between the train tracks and the falls totally blocked any view of the most scenic part of the falls.
You don't really have to be a fan of Thomas & Friends to enjoy this little travel video... but if you are a fan, I think you'll love it even more. The 3-8 year old crowd really seems to be wild for Thomas The Tank Engine, so I bet if you have a toddler, preschooler, or elementary school aged kid... they will love this video.
