Well here is your update! Emma was not doing any better and was asking for me to help her I decided that taking her the ER was the best option for us. Come along on the scary ER trip and see what they say is going on with her.

I hope emma gets better, truly its exhausting being told over and over again there’s nothing exactly wrong even though you feel horrible. A lot of the time doctors in the ER have no idea what they’re doing or miss things so it’s better to go to specialist. I’ve had heart issues as a healthy 17 year old for about 2 years now i’ve been tested countless times and been to a cardiologist yet they say nothing is wrong with me. It’s incredibly frustrating but don’t lose hope in getting her a diagnosis

Called Advocating for your patient... you have to do it to get what you need sometimes. You can always ask for 2nd or 3rd opinions even in the ER. Don't settle if you don't get the answers needed.
Don’t feel bad or hold back for being frustrated!! There’s clearly something wrong, anyone in your position Heather would be worried let alone frustrated when they’re being so nonchalant
Praying for Emma and you as her mother I know is incredibly stressful. I’m praying for answers so she can start receiving the proper treatment, and that she starts to feel better soon ❤️

I had almost all of the same symptoms. I ended up having a thyroid problem and graves disease. My body was attacking my immune system. I would definitely take her to a thyroid specialist!
I was thinking that too because of her neck.
My first thought was thyroid too!
Her neck could just be her lymph nodes from
Infection. Mine did that when I kept getting sick because my body just couldn’t keep up with all the sicknesses I kept getting. It can also cause a lot of pain

Me too they ended up finding tumors in my thyroid I now have to be on hormone replacement
The amount of times Ive gotten dismissed by doctors even when I could not walk from pain its insane! I hope you guys get answers

My friend's brother had similar symptoms as Emma. They were thinking he had meningitis, but it ended up being a tick bite. Emma is in my prayers.

I am sending lots of prays for Emma. The ER does take a long time, normally they do most priority first, but it is frustrating when you want answers.

Heather look up the early stages of meningitis.
"Early symptoms can be similar to the flu. However, having a stiff neck in addition to flu-like symptoms could be a key clue that meningitis is the problem and should be checked by a doctor. Patients should seek immediate medical attention if a stiff neck is accompanied by a fever, headache and/or nausea."
I’m so sorry that you guys have to go through this. I hope the doctors find out soon what is going on with Emma because it’s been going on for awhile.
The medical field has gone down. I’ve been in similar situations and it’s like they don’t take it serious bc we’re “ young “, unless your coming in with something cut open and or a disease it’s like they dont care to jump on it and do something like you think they SHOULD bc of the fact we’re young adults you would want to catch something as soon as possible!! Ugh definitely frustrating. And I can only imagine what’s going thru your heads, keep positive❤️ Emma’s in our prayers and she will be okay!!
She looked like she wouldn’t have been able to walk with the way her feet looked so I don’t know how much I believe from that doctor. Definitely seems like something different than a virus to cause her feet and hands to change color and swell like that
definitely advocate for testing for autoimmune diseases or thyroid testing!!! i hope emma feels better!!
Coming form a chronically Ill person unfortunately you have to push and advocate for yourself. A lot of doctors don’t care. I am so sorry you’re going through this. Emma and you all are in my thoughts. Keep pushing for answers
I feel so bad for Emma!! About 8yrs back I had the same thing going on and the drs kept telling me the same thing they were telling u but we knew something wasn’t right I didn’t feel right and low and behold I had an autoimmune disease that was causing everything I really pray Emma gets better and doesn’t have an autoimmune issue because it is no fun and I would NEVER want to see anyone deal with it

I’m so sorry Emma is feeling so bad. It’s really crappy when you get a doctor who is so rude. It is strange how her legs are two different colors. Hopefully it is just the virus. Please tell Emma we hope she feels better soon and thank her for sharing the ups and downs in life. Hugs to you all.

It might be a long shot, but have you thought about checking Emma’s room for mold? I know it seems bizarre since nobody else is getting sick in the house. But I know my room had mold in it in middle school and I was in and out of the hospital for months. Just a thought. I hope she gets better! 💓

Hope she'll be okay. That's really strange about the foot and hands changing color like that though. They're definitely missing something, pain on the right side, changing color, that is NOT a virus

Heather look up Lymphoma, its the most common cancer in young adults and some of the main symptoms are a hump on the neck, and raised white blood cells!
Have them check her thyroid! I had the same neck issues and feeling sick and my thyroid levels were too high. Now I’m on medication and feel so much better. Praying for her!🫶🏻❤️❤️
This happened to me when I was 19. I was sick off and on for 6 months. I ended up getting diagnosed with hypothyroidism. I would suggest getting her thyroid levels checked!! ❤
I have had hypothyroidism since I was 10 . This past 4 months I’ve been sick 6 or 7 times. No one knows why
I’ve just been diagnosed with hypothyroidism, got another blood test on Thursday to send to the specialist endocrinologist. Just wondering do medications work ??
@@bethanymay7720 yes it does name brand works better for me but others are fine with the off brand but you will be getting lots of blood and dosage changes .

I know it sounds a little crazy but have them check for tick bites. I had a nephew that guy really sick from it. And I had a coworker that couldn't get to getting better after months and it was a tick bite
Keep pushing for Emma!! Great mom! There’s so many stories where people didn’t push and there was something wrong, but we don’t ever think it’ll happen to us or our loved ones. Hope you all get answers soon🫶

hi heather! i’m 17 and i’ve been sick atleast 5-6 times since november. i’m currently getting over a virus that left me with cold sweats, sore throat, and lots of mucus. just let emma know she’s not alone :(

When you said that people are getting sick multiple times is very true I have had bronchitis twice
Hope Emma gets better soon!! If this keeps happening I would definitely try to rule out lymphoma, it can be missed on Ct and has a high white bc and many of the symptoms she is having. ENT can diagnose. I think the lump on her neck may be a lymph node. Definitely need to be your own advocate these days, a lot of uncaring and overworked doctors out there. This is alarming af!!! With the fact that Emma is hurting in the right side and then her right foot is damn near purple! And her hand as well! It’s as if her blood flow is being blocked somewhere! The doctors seem to be playing it off like it’s no big deal! And mama bear mode has no choice but to come out when one of your kids are I’ll so she will get over the embarrassment I promise my kids do the same th7ng and are like “MOM stooooop”

Heather you are an amazing mum to your girls , I had a virus two weeks ago that gave me crazy hip pain and Nausea . Very weird . Don’t you just love when the Drs know what it’s not but never know what it is 😳😳. Hope Emma feels better soon 💕

I had menigitis last year and i could move my neck. Push to have the test done!!
Same but the headache and vomiting stood out most to me and for her the sore throat stood out.
Does Emma’s Dad have health issues that could have been passed down to her genetically? Prayers for Emma and to heal her physical health.

Your being a loving, caring mum not embarrassing. I got a severe migraine then paralysed on my right side and admitted for 7 days. In 2016 I was diagnosed with Lupus SLE bcoz it attacks the whole body every week something would happen then 2017 Fibromyalgia. I hope Emma gets well soon
what about a rheumatologist? they deal with all the weird illnesses. maybe get a referral there?
100% thyroid or parathyroid issue. Thyroid issues are very common
