Yes this did fix it but when I reinstalled it I did not use lock tight on the nut The nut spun off and damaged the threads on the end of my crank and scored all the rollers in the cvt I was able to reestablish the threads with a file and die grinder but had to replace all the rollers so when doing this be sure to use lock tight removable strength (BLUE)

So what was the verdict? Was this the fix? I have a 2005 but so far no problems, although the mileage is low due to lack of use.

how much did you torque the nut ?
How did you get the nut off? I can't seem to get mine off without the whole thing turning with it
