Personally I thought the most mind blowing part of the first version was the color change. Even rewatching the video over and over I could never guess how that part was done and has SUCH a great effect

Use a blue deck throughout the routine and at the end when you show all to diamonds, play Red by Taylor Swift & change the backs to red.
