A truly super talent, so lucky to hear these sounds. This dude is able to do what he is doing so fluently making his sounds so special among all the variants of electronic music. ✌️

actually no... its just, you ve not been to frankfurt in the 90s, you ve never seen the robert johnsons from the inside, you have not heard karotte play in U60311. This is techno from a few generations back, produced with modern approach to a contemporary speed
should be called "under hypnose" , perfect frenquency , perfect tempo and perfect beat ,,,,,...Smoke some butter before, your neurones will be Wirred 🤪🤪🤪
brief context: dub techno as a style begins with artists like Basic Channel and Detroit minimal techno like Robert Hood or Deepchord. one of the members of Basic Channel, Mark Ernestus, opened a record store in Berlin in the early 90's called Hardwax which specializes in techno, electronic music, and also in particular dub reggae. dub techno loosely borrows sonic concepts from dub reggae like chords washed out in reverb, delay, and also mixing the tracks "live" on the console with little to no rearranging/tweaking tracks by using computer software like many modern producers will. as for VRIL, he has his own spin on dub techno which I would consider "cinematic" because of his use of loops, noise, ambience, and heavily filtered samples. dub is not a genre for everyone because of these qualities and can be appreciated if thought of as a trance-inducing soundscape. I hope this helps! cheers.
Really pains me to say it but I didn't enjoy this at all... I'm a big Giegling fan - seeing the crew this weekend at Corsica - but, as someone else commented 'Dense and homogeneous' pretty much nails it. Felt really chaotic without being captivating for it... Concealed bassline + Ambient drone noise + Static-y mids and highs Maybe it's just my headphones or headspace, but I much preferred e.g. the sparseness of Recondite's recent Essential Mix.
This mix deserves classic status, I mean.. wow. A real treat for the deepheads!
Agreed. Regularly revisit this.
Not even a deep head per say, but this is my top mix when I need something a little slower.
Better 5 years late than never;).
Currently, the best in the game.
