Mysterious Autumn Painting and How to Frame a Fredrix Canvas Sheet

- What do I do with my Fredrix canvas sheets when I’m done painting them? I frame them! I’m going to show you how to permanently mount and frame a canvas sheet AND paint a gorgeous autumn painting, and all by hand. Literally. By HAND. Yes, that means finger painting :D

I’m painting on a black 12x16 Fredrix Real Canvas pad. Get yours here: amzn.to/2LhThAr
To frame, I used:
• Fredrix 12x16-in canvas pad (or any size)
• Frame with tab closures
• Craft knife
• Pencil
• Ruler
• Palette knife
• Gel medium (gloss or matte, doesn’t matter)
• 1/8-in foam core board

I so got lost in this painting! I was mesmerized! It looks like a museum piece, Jane. I so enjoyed watching this and may attempt it myself. Wonderful job!!! I bought finger cots to use to finger paint with. I do not like gloves, but do not want my fingers to touch the paint, especially if it is cadmium based. Thank you. I always cut my substrate slightly larger than the canvas sheet and trim it down after gluing. That way I don't have to worry about getting it crooked.

Hi Jane! I have been watching you paint for a few years now during my recovery from a traumatic spinal injury. I stand stronger now and have been so inspired by you. My son and I have recently started our own acrylic painting TH-cam channel thanks to your inspiration. We hope you enjoy looking at the monster you created....lol. foam core board.. at the dollar store.. cheap!! Make sure you have a sharp blade when cutting.. or you will get choppy edges. LOVE LOVE LOVE this one.. can't wait to try it.

What a wonderful painting and tutorial. I'm afraid to try it, because I'm new at painting, but the info about the canvas sheet gluing to a foam core backing and then framing was so interesting and I will use that info for now. Thank you for this great tutorial

Jane, this was a mind blower! It looks like a beautiful old oil painting to me. I’m definitely going to try this but I do think I will for sure wear gloves or coat my hands with a product I like to protect my skin called Gloves in a Bottle.
