Funny revisiting these basics as I’m learning Paddy’s Leather Breeches..... All good practice. Must revisit the basic building blocks more!

    Matt
Well done and well timed. Interestingly enough I was fighting with this exercise as I was learning The Glasgow City Police pipes jig. Helped immensely going through these basics again.
    Best👊👍🇨🇦

Thank you this was very helpful. I am 12 and have been playing the bagpipes since I was 5 and I could never master the G D E grase notes and I managed to get it because of this.

Thank you for sharing your knowledge. With you and my instructor here I am actually making music sounds and less dying cat sounds. 😁

Ha ha I put the speed down to 0.5 and you sound as if you polished off a bottle of whisky before the start of the video 😂😂

    Hey Matt,
could you please tell me which practice chanter you use in this video?

A 2001 MacLellan long Cocobolo practice chanter. He recently started making these again, though the modern look and proportions are different. Still great instruments!

A good practice chanter. The R. G Hardie Twist Trap chanter is a good choice
