Freewing F14 speed and stall tests

- 3rd and 4th FPV flights were to assess the top speed and stall characteristics of the Freewing 64mm F-14. On both flights my battery was an HRB 6S-4000 60C. Turns out the model was no faster with the wings aft than forward, which did not surprise me at all.

Love the professionally done stall tests, Tom! Not only are the stall speeds useful, but also the stall attitudes for different flap states. I noticed the break was at higher nose up attitude clean vs the half flap and then the full flap attitudes. Very cool!👍
yes, just the way it is supposed to happen. Flaps increase lift at lower AOA but stall at a lower Max AOA than a clean wing.
Very informative evaluation. You track the horizon very well. I guess that's an advantage of FPV.
Thanks, yes, just like in full scale aviation, if you don't have an AOA sensor to tell you your angle of attack, you focus on the horizon to judge a "safe" place to fly.
Freewing owes us$500 and an apology.
For what? Mine flies great!
@@tomhuntFPV NVM i was lasing out without thinking. Sorry Just unhappy with mine.
Great video and Info - Tom, would the canopy cut out slow it down a little by causing more drag, as it looks the the air (Wind) going into it at the cut out has no where to exit- I have one of these and have seen lots of crash videos - any info you can share would be really welcome as I have not even taken mine out of the box - I will sub and go check your videos for info - thanks again...
Cutting out fwd canopy has slowed down some of my other FPV jets by about 8% (it was 8MPH slow on 100MPH freewing F9F Cougar) I have just posted this on rcgroups and it may have been the cause of some of the wing failure crashes. www.rcgroups.com/forums/showpost.php?p=52392509&postcount=1231
Lovely stuff Tom ❤❤ lovely plane my friend. New supporter here bud 👍🏼
Thanks, it is my passion!
@@tomhuntFPV same here bud I love it ❤️❤️❤️
Man, I can’t wait till I get mine!
Is nice jet for looks’ the arrows f15 will do 98mph without diving it. And e flite f 14 will do 85mph without diving it. Nice video
I think the thing that's holding this model back is the poor airfoil on the wing it's very thick and the high point is very far aft. It's also making for some poor stall characteristics
