  • ▶︎▶︎ www.udemy.com/... - Being that Sketch is a vector drawing application at heart, we might as well take a closer look at how to draw vector shapes from scratch using the Vector and Pencil tools. By the end of this tutorial, you will know what your options are for drawing from scratch in Sketch 3.

    Thanks mate. Forgive me if you mentioned this in your last vid - but when you have a point selected, shortcuts 1,2,3 or 4 toggle between corner types Straight, Mirrored, Disconnected & Asymmetric. I find that really useful.

    yes and when you want to make something like this Straight line - curved line for a few times , is there a button. There is a button for everything :/

    I have the same problem, it doesn't let me close the path with the pen. This is a bug

    Why do some of the traces with pencil tool get erased?

    Do you have a video on using curved text? seems a lot harder in Sketch than it should be.

    • @johnnnyfoley
      @johnnnyfoley 6 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      That's because curved text is bad ;)

    Is there a way to continue adding lines to a previous vector sketch? Cant seem to figure out how to get it to connect to the existing points >:-(

      Press 'Enter / return' when path selected, then click anywhere on the path = this creates new points on that line/path

    How does this even come close to Illustrator's pen tool?! There are still almost zero ways to edit lines in this program (this is a 4 year old video)

      Find it so much easier than .ai pen tool. Much more intuitive

    its 2020 and sketch still can't draw vectors even half as easily as Illustrator. Its literally impossible to draw a lolly pop or something with round and sharp corners, specifically when you need to go from round to sharp, in illustrator you just tap the anchor and its done, in sketch you need some magical password or secret code or some other bullshit.

    Very... "forgiving"?!

      This is a very common description. Meaning= it makes life easy and allows for editing on the fly rather than having to undo a lot of your previous work.

    thanks for the video but sketch sucks for vectors

  • @aswathysubhash174

    Hell no! Its not forgiving! Pen tool in Sketch and XD are the worst if you have to make a vector. Really time consuming. I would rather make the file in Illustrator.
