    Man... seeing the sort of contrast and love between Fara, a Daevite who likes metal, and Atham, a Mekhanite who likes plants. It really brings a lot of humanity into these 3 empires that normally we don't see, especially the Daevites and Nalka, who are often painted as villains compared to the Mekhanites being somewhat good.

    This is really what I got into SCPs for. The ever increasing and branching lore and narratives that come from other SCPs or SCP tales. It proves just how popular and influential these writings are to other authors. Reminds me of H.P Lovecraft and how others took his concepts and stories of cosmic and existential horror and made it into a full blown mythos.

    Something I find pretty interesting, is that the world "fuladh" translates to "steel" in Persian. Maybe Amoni-Ram used to be in Persia. That could explain how they had contact with China and Egypt at the same time. Still not so sure about the part about the America's, though. Even it's name in the exploration logs from the 1800's name it as "Iram" which sounds pretty similar to "Iran". That is, if you say "Iran" the way Iranians do.

    • @GamingTrifilm
      @GamingTrifilm 2 ปีที่แล้ว +14

      It’s also similar to fulaz which also means steel but in Arabic so it was most definitely in the Middle East and Amoni-ram was meant to be similar to the cursed iraqi city mentioned in the Quran

    • @alyseleem2692
      @alyseleem2692 2 ปีที่แล้ว +23

      Iram has no relation to Iran. It's precise location was considered to be the Empty Quarter, north of Yemen. It is mentioned in the Quran as a city of ancient folk, ancestors to the Arabs of it's time. Iran's name,or some variation of it,is mentioned somewhere in the Avesta,and refers to the Iranians themselves. It is said to come from the name of Iraj,a Prince killed by his brothers.
      Either way,their linguistic and geographical differences are too different. Iram's true name here is Amoni-Ram, shooting down the similarity already. Still, I digress.
      Note: Fuladh is also Arabic in origin. Sorry.

      Of course since it’s SCP different authors have different stories, but I imagine it’s similar to this one. A lot of lore references Yaldaboth (the sarkic god) being imprisoned by the Broken god, which broke itself into pieces to stop yaldaboth. They had made humanity together as well.
      This could be a separate mythos, or just takes place after, and Bumaro found Mekane afterwards.

They created humanity in ancient times before warring over us to the point we were dying out in the battles and so Mekane broke pieces off of herself to create a cage to contain Yaldabaoth for "all eternity" (although in various stories it is implied these seals are weakening or outright breaking in modern times and releasing some of Yaldabaoths minions into the world as various SCP's like the Flesh that Hates and the Ambassador of Alagadda).

    It's incredible! Sadly, it feels like an appetizer, though leaving the mystery mostly whole and intact about the fate of Atham and Fara, what it all means, as even if we can infer a lot from certain passages and reach conclusions with a pretty high degree of certainty on what is happening, what some words, thoughts, acts, really imply...
    Though we can fill an appreciable part of the story through analysis, a LOT is left to *Interpretation* and *Speculation* in the end. By leaving a lot of the basic, core story points unexplained and instead giving us the necessary clues to put the pieces together to a certain extent, leaving many mysteries unsolved along the way, the Author accomplishes a truly brilliant feat of storytelling: he doesn't treat the readers as feeble minded inbred simpletons and instead invite the curious among us to stay in this wonderful universe, exploring the possibilities with our imagination and reason combined, so that we can have the immense pleasure and satisfaction of finding the answers for ourselves, which is in itself a pretty interesting and awesome journey and constitutes the best Gift the Author could have ever given us!

    We've had it with the Daevites, now the COTBG. I love how these tales bring me to sympathize with a group of interest that's mostly been presented as an enemy. Are there any tales like that for the Sarkites?

    • @martyjehovah
      @martyjehovah 2 ปีที่แล้ว +8

      I don't know of specific tales, but it has been mentioned at least tangentially that some of the modern proto sarkite sects are not hostile, and generally just wish to live peacefully and isolated from the rest of humanity. And while they do still practice cannibalism and human sacrifice the people sacrificed are willing volunteers because they believe self sacrifice is an admirable act, and they are (at least in their own minds) doing so for altruistic reasons. I don't know that that's very sympathetic, but it seems closer to tolerably neutral than evil. Basically the polar opposite of the neo sarkites who believe in sacrificing others for their own betterment, and are generally the ones responsible for doing all the bad stuff related to sarkicism.
      Also depending on the canon the original sarkites were slaves to the daevites, and they wielded their power to win their own freedom, so at the very least for a short period of time they were victims of atrocity who wielded power to right a wrong. That's certainly sympathetic.

    • @Tacklepig
      @Tacklepig 2 ปีที่แล้ว +5

      The COTBG isn't typically presented as an enemy, are they?
      Of course their interests are somewhat opposed to the foundation (in that they want to obtain some things the foundation contains), but usually they tend to be quite reasonable whenever shit actually hits the fan. They're definitely a more reasonable group than, say, the GOC.
      I think they're typically portrayed as a pretty normal religion, all things considered.
      As to the Sarkites,I think it's pretty hard to make them sympathetic just based on what they are. Even the more "tolerable" kinds of Sarkicism still worship mutation and disease, practice human sacrifice and cannibalism, and are just all-around gross. A lot of these more tolerable cults are just rural communities following the old ways, often keeping horrible monstrosities from waking up with their rituals, but...still gross. And aesthetic makes more of a difference than you think.
      And then you have the bad parts of neo-Sarkicism which are literally about self-worship, opportunism and using others for your ends. It's literally a secret cult of elites centered around being a sociopath while also having weird flesh-mutation-powers.
      I'm guessing you could have a sort of "reformed" Sarkicism that uses their flesh powers to feed the poor and help with scientific experiments, potentially even help cure diseases (though that would imo go against the nature of what Sarkicism is), but that would still ultimately leave the neo-Sarkite cults, and I'm not seeing how those could be reformed.

    It's kinda cool if ppl really can write their own short stories then put here. I hope so. And I hope In future we or you guys will make some good stories come too life with your talented animators. But this could become the beginning of this universe. Story form to cartoon to movies I hope :)

    I was just about to say that we need shorter 40mins or less videos more often. Or maybe think about increasing the release schedule/frequency when we have a multi parter where each portion is an hour long.
    The longer scps are some of the best, but its hard to follow often while listening. Il be watch regardless though so...

      I think the best stories are the ones that end, but only in our minds. It reflects life, but with a sense of untethered wonder, where the stakes aren’t so high and the possibilities are only in our limit of imagination.

    The SCP universe, the more I listen and read of it the more scary it gets, by now we are slaves of technology, if the SCP universe remotely has possibility to become reality ( lets hope not ) then who is watching for the watchers, sometimes I feel that the foundation it self is as dangerous as any other GOI they are after.
