Looks like a nice hike. So very different from your AT hiking, where you go days before you reach a town, and have to sleep in a tent many nights. Here it seems much easier, stopping in a nice hotel every night in a quant village or town. A different experience, but looks like a lot of fun. 😎

My first thought as you headed into Gernika is that the buildings were all much newer than the other towns/cities you had passed through. I, too, was tearing up when you explained why. SAM
Wow! The pictures! I was fighting back the tears too. Can’t even imagine what they went through. I loved the pit bull. He was so sweet rubbing against your legs. He just wanted some love. Are the places you are staying at air conditioned? I am guessing no. How do you sleep with the music playing in the streets? I have a hard time sleeping with our neighbors dog barking at all hours of the night! 😊 safe travels to you!!
Very girthy horses! Beautiful goat eyes and that gaze of the dog was intimidating. What time do you end your hike each day on average and do you plan for time to enjoy each town you stop at?

“Sadly” we will have to return to fully enjoy this beautiful coast.
