  • Mount Everest is known around the world as being the tallest mountain on the planet. Because of this, the mountain has been the target of countless hiking expeditions throughout the years, with many avid climbers doing their best to reach the summit of this remarkably large mountain. Everest, a part of the Himalayas, is estimated to be about 8,849 meters tall. This height is so incredibly impressive that it is hard to imagine the mountain in all of its glory without seeing it in person. This has led many adventurers to become a bit more than curious about the terrain of the mountain, oftentimes putting their lives at risk to conquer the tallest mountain in the world.

the way this guy portrays going missing on Everest as some phenomenon is insane. Its 8000m above sea level and like 1/5 of the mountain doesn't have enough air to support humans, and some people don't bring supplemental air or they run out from waiting or getting tired and using more then usual. To say those Russian mountaineers just disappeared to never be seen again is unbelievably stupid. How can you not investigate other Everest's deaths or even use your common sense and realize they fell into 100ft+ deep crevasses, slipped and fell off the side of the mountain into very tight rock formations and then were covered by avalanches as time passed, or any of the other very common deaths that happen like getting tired going to sit for a break just to fall asleep and never wake up again and gusts of wind cover your body to never be found, but instead try to paint the mountain as some crazy ghost place. very stupid. Every climber is well aware of the dangers theyre about to face and the possibility of dying the same way alot of others have on the mountain when they pay the 50k+ to climb it. summiting is only half the goal, the other half is descending back down to base camp alive

Yes it's because when there coming down there In a hurry usually. Trying to beat a storm, bad visibility, hurricane winds and etc. I'm pretty sure they know they have to come back down, that's why there are plans on way to go down and escape routes in case the other way is unclimbable. Everest isn't even near.the deadliest mountain by average. Hell they don't have to carry anything up. Everest is like a vacation with climbing in the death zone. Let these people climb K2, broad peek and real mountains with all the extra help. Does it even count as climbing if your not leading. It's just like standing in line at Walmart with high altitudes. With the whole way roped out. That's not real climbing

I want to clear & clarify something here:
Mt. Everest is the HIGHEST Mountain containing the Highest POINT, on Earth.
It is NOT the “Tallest” Mountain. There IS a difference!
8,848 Meters is how high it is, in relation to SEA LEVEL…not the measurement of its very base, on the ground, & upward.
From the Ground you sit on & look up, & the height at which you climb from the GROUND isn’t 8,848 Meters. Meaning…you don’t physically CLIMB 8,848 Meters.
That is quite a bit shortest as the base camps rest at 5,000-&-some-odd Feet above sea level themselves.

In the first ever systematic genetic survey, we have used rigorous decontamination followed by mitochondrial 12S RNA sequencing to identify the species origin of 30 hair samples attributed to anomalous primates. Two Himalayan samples, one from Ladakh, India, the other from Bhutan, had their closest genetic affinity with a Palaeolithic polar bear, Ursus maritimus. Otherwise the hairs were from a range of known extant mammals. from the 2014 paper

The DNA was actually somewhat matched to DNA so far only found in fossils, a 60k year old polar bear, so they believe it is a evolutionary offspring of that animal. and Reinhold Messner actually had an encounter with one, and i believe he is considered rather stable(sane) and the godfather of mountaineering. it is just a very very rare and illusive bear, that's all the Yeti is.
