It was great to meet you too. I did try to talk to Alun, but tbh he wasn't that interested at the time & said "how about I give you your money back" which wasn't really what I was telling him my thoughts for. I didn't want my money back. I wanted to give him some real feedback from people that go to the event & lots of other events. He did send me a message after the event telling me they were sorting a few things out for the next one. He is a really decent guy & under lots of pressure setting up that event. Its probably not all down to him about costs ect.
I was waiting for this one! I did VIP in 22 and enjoyed it! I wasn’t going to go back this year but changed my mind when I found out John McGuinness was there. We only managed to get day tickets but when we arrived Saturday I could not believe how big Abr had got! I think its too big now. I totally agree with your comments. I hope they take heed of the complaints but I won’t be buying tickets for next year. I hope things with you are better hope to see you out there sometime.
Thanks Lee. Yea its a shame its got so big. Sounds bizarre to say that, but its lost its identity really. We saw loads of people with dogs 🐕 which made me question were we at a motorcycle adventure festival or just a festival.

Thats funny because I almost did a big arrow to that guy saying "was this you"? "Wtf were your wearing young man" ,but I decided not to. Mainly for time. Everything takes so long editing. I'm guessing it was a mesh armoured top. Why white though? Maybe a heat thing. I think I need one. I could pull that look right off. Yea the entry was an absolute nightmare. I'm surprised we only saw 1 go down. She fell over onto Jason. Check out Green String's video of the event. It was too slow with way too many bikes loaded up like pregnant cows. It was also very hot & on a loose gravel track. Stop start stop Start. Clutch finger felt like I'd been entertaining for weeks non stop. Unnecessary clutch wear too. Whoever organised that needs stuffing with the rough end of a pineapple 🍍

Totally agree with everything you said about the organisation of the event and availability of drinks and food. I spoke to Allun after the event and he apologised and sorted me out with a free ticket for next year which I appreciated. Hopefully lessons will have been learned, if not, next year, my fourth year of attending will be my last. 👍
O that was good of him. Every event will have issues & I guess you can't please everyone all the time. However the issues were the same 3 years in a row & the event has grown to a gigantic scale. So the problems are more of a problem now. I won't be going again. I'm glad I went.

Finally found myself in someone's video hahaha. Towards the end. I was trying to figure out, what trial was were. Anyway, I had none of the issues you had last year. I arrived just after the "parade" set off, and it was all clear, by time I was ready to go in. Never had to wait long for loo or shower. I was in the sameish area as well. Maybe, was down to times I went? Max I waited for loo, was like 10 mins, and didn't wait for shower. Think it was about 10 mins (normal times) wait for food, again, I finally ventured into the arena, after it sunset. Lets see what this year turns out like

They have been running this for years and coining it in. With that large population on site it should be well worth it to vendors of all kinds to be setting up to take advantage. I can only think that they are charging them too much or taking too much of a cut for some. Hi John, yea the vendors are charged a lot. Way too much in my humble opinion. Especially when the WiFi which apparently they pay extra for, is really bad. So the card machines don't work most of the time. You sounded really posh then with the demographic bit. I liked that😉. No I haven't booked a test ride, but I will be calling next week to hopefully arrange that. Actually I might call in a minute.
Thanks. No its not VIP in the slightest. Its just early entry to get a pitch. VIP should be just that. Even if VIP is a bit more money. You should get the choice of a t shirt or a hat or a deal on both that the peasants don't get. You should get a meal & a drink of your choice to a certain value. You should be able to book & go on test rides & have separate area for camping with showers & toilets. To be fair the toilets & showers are the best I've ever used at an event. The company they use are absolutely amazing 👏
I know what you mean. Yea it needs more thought. It does seem to of turned into a money making exorcise now. I know they need to make money to pay the amount of staff needed for an event that size, but yea its got out of control.
Another good and informative vid Leigh,its a pity the organisers hadn't really quite got it right, and as for the rude ignorant arse hole in the loo,a quick fore arm smash in the wind pipe might have been in order, however that doesn't really solve anything does it. It just seemed all about money. Yea that guy was a tool. However Alun was not happy about that when I told him & we both went in the staff area looking for him. We didn't find him. That's not their fault. Sometimes it's not so much the event you go to, it's the people your with. I'm pretty sure I would have a great time with awesome people just sat in a field with our tents, beers, fire, music & food. Just talking bollox.
The entry to the event is carefully crafted chaos so they can get good publicity shots of hundreds of bikes. They don't really care that you wait for ages to get in and it's not pleasant for the riders. I found there was a lot more people there than previous years but fewer toilets and showers. I've already bought my tickets for next year but it will be my last. It's all about the money now from what I heard from staff as the magazine is almost dead so they have to make money from other things. Great video as usual though.

Apparently there were 4000 people in 21 & 12000 in 23. It did all seem to be about money. A trader I know & he has been on my videos told me they asked him to go. They wanted £3k for him to be there. He asked me if I thought it would be worth it for him. I told him no. Completely the wrong event for him. It was interesting to see how much they charged vendors to be there. The catering companies there had to charge a ridiculous amount for food to make any money. I'm glad I went, but I won't be going again.

Yea it was ridiculously hot 🔥 🥵. From one extreme to another in the UK right? Either raining 🌧 or just too hot. Yea its a good event, but after 3 years of it growing, it's too big for my liking now & still with some of the original issues. I think its loosing it's identity & turning into a money making machine. Don't get me wrong. Alun (spelt funny) & his massive team do a good job, but the queuing, lack of WiFi to pay for things, the struggle for veggie food on the VIP & other stuff was a bit of a pain in the rear. Yea if you stand up on any terrain it means your an Adventure Bikest 😉 ✨️
People bring there bikes on trailers vegan food talks on how to pack your bags for a trip to costa. Whats the f##k . Wheres the sexy women . I can go to these places now it makes me feel embarrassed. The funny thing is when your on a dirt track up in the alps there aren't that many uk adv yet you can get there for 150 quid.

When I bought my GSA & I started travelling, I expected to see lots of others in a layby in Scotland or on a little road in Spain cooking some food or making a coffee or just having a chill for a min. When I ride to Millau & Spain (video on here) I didn't see anybody. Its pretty much been like that 95% of the time. I always think "if this is the best selling bike in the world, where the hell are they all"? I'm not sure what sexy women your expecting to see, but don't go anywhere near those. If you do see one, just look at her from a distance. Much safer dude. I did like the talk from the Lady tgat toured the World in I think the 70's or 80's Elspeth beard. She was there in 21 & 22. Not sure about 23. I'm sure some of the other talks were good, but I was busy queuing for food or a drink.
