As a Russian, I hope that soon elderly politicians will die in prisons, and the situation will begin to change. Russian youth people, like most people in the world, want to live in multiculturalism era, want to travel and communicate with other countries and people. The old generation likes to blame and shame the youth for everything, but it is not the youth that has brought Russia into this situation. Most of the people in these videos have not seen anyone but Putin at the head of the country. It's not their fault. It's sad to live in such a historical time

However ,what I see as an American is a sense of wanting to engage peacefully, learn and cast aside senseless issues of war . However, make no misunderstanding their great respect by Russian youth of their nation and culture . Hopefully, the insanity that we are witnessing in the Ukraine ends soon . 3:25 This woman actually has a very good point. A nuclear war should not even be discussed. The more it is being talked about the more people will get used to the thought that it could be a real option, including the ones in power. The risk of a nuclear war should not be raised by any means.

Well, you need to start with the fact that Zelensky was the first to talk about nuclear weapons and that he could use them if he returned the nuclear status to Ukraine, and only after that Putin began the operation. And now the US is provoking Putin into a nuclear war. Although they couldn't do it, Putin would just take down the stupid idiot Zelensky and they would elect a new president. But no, they supply weapons and people to Ukraine. So nuclear war seems inevitable and we all won't live long... I don’t get it to, you know, but many people, who have nothing in their own miserable and poor lives- and life of pensioners in Russia IS miserable- they really like to think about themselves as a particles of big strong nation.

I wish being against nuclear weaponry really was an obvious position in Russia, but it isn't. Their tv personalities are literally talking in favor of it, and the government keeps giving out warnings, as well.
In a normal country, nuclear war would be off the table in ANY given situation. But Russia is not a normal country anymore, it's a North Korea with much more power and influence. I fear for the common Russian citizens, and the world

Very simple. These people have heard for the last 20 years that politics is bad. Only scum participate in politics. Politics is a dirty business. Etc. Now there are no organizations uniting people, even small ones, there are no free media. There are only people who have been beaten on the head for 20 years for thinking. Now they have forgotten how to think. They are not afraid. They don't think about what will happen. They just live. Float with the flow. Willless, insensitive, not thinking about anything, not believing in anything. The most they care about is their own lives. Only they think that if they behave well, then the nightmare will not come to them.

I pray God would prevent this from ever occuring. I have to believe their are good people in the Russian military that would prevent that from happening. I and eight other persons had to chance to talk to Gorbachev's Green Generals, the heads of the military branches during the talks. They were very nice and frank in their talks with us. They were called the Green Generals because they convinced Gorbachev that a nuclear war was suicide and not winners. They were particularly spooked by Chernobyl melt down and how far and damaging the radiation was to Europe and East Russia particularly the environment hence "Green" Generals. They said they would refuse a nuclear war. Lets hope those Generals left their legacy of thinking as culture in the military.

Their lives have been imploded forever by the actions decided by one man's insecurity and narcissistic ideals. There is not one person dealing in reality that would say there was one iota of credence to invading Ukraine. The West has no interest in invading or taking over Russia. For the record, it is not the Americans or any western nuclear state that has threatened the use of nuclear weapons. It is only Russia. Yes, of course, it was the United States that actually used nuclear weapons twice in the past, to bring about the end of World War 2 and avoid the planned and imminent full-scale land invasion of Japan which would have resulted in countless more losses on both sides in a battle that would have dragged out the war even longer. If Stalin had nuclear weapons back then, he most certainly would have used them on Germany.

      @hizzlemobizzle 2 ปีที่แล้ว +9

@@TomorrowWeLive That would be a best case scenario. This is how the alliance for science describes a best case scenario.
A Study published in 2019, looked at a comparable but slightly lower 150 Tg atmospheric soot injection following an equivalent scale nuclear war. The devastation causes so much smoke that only 30-40 percent of sunlight reaches the Earth’s surface for the subsequent six months.
A massive drop in temperature follows, with the weather staying below freezing throughout the subsequent Northern Hemisphere summer. In Iowa, for example, the model shows temperatures staying below 0°C for 730 days straight. There is no growing season. This is a true nuclear winter.
Nor is it just a short blip. Temperatures still drop below freezing in summer for several years thereafter, and global precipitation falls by half by years three and four. It takes over a decade for anything like climatic normality to return to the planet.
By this time, most of Earth’s human population will be long dead. The world’s food production would crash by more than 90 percent, causing global famine that would kill billions by starvation. In most countries less than a quarter of the population survives by the end of year two in this scenario. Global fish stocks are decimated and the ozone layer collapses.
The models are eerily specific. In the 4,400 warhead/150 Tg soot nuclear war scenario, averaged over the subsequent five years, China sees a reduction in food calories of 97.2 percent, France by 97.5 percent, Russia by 99.7 percent, the UK by 99.5 percent and the US by 98.9 percent. In all these countries, virtually everyone who survived the initial blasts would subsequently starve.

Talking this way only increases the likelihood of it happening, and it will end badly for everyone. All politicians know about the mutual agreement to send back the present which is active always. Russian citizens should think about how these threats are made putting them in danger, whilst politicians talk about going to their special bunker leaving civilians to take the retaliatory strikes. This is an abomination.

@@user-ky2nv6hk2h chanting about wanting someone dead, is bad. I will look to find out how much this happened. However, we need to take into account, Russian army contributed to invasion and war in part of Ukraine for that 8 years. That will likely stoke hostilities between nations when you invade.
About the USA, their ethical model is heavily based on freedom (they fought a bloody war against my nation England in 1776 - to get their freedom). So they will support countries with citizens trying to get freedom. Are there other interests? Yes maybe. But it is not clear cut - and enemies outside and within always use this excuse to try to damage their intention. Yes - the USA get things wrong, (and UK where I am). Some things seem like a good idea but go wrong in reality.
However, in our country we are free and live in prosperity. We want that for others. Do you want a free press, freedom of speech to say what you want and not be put in jail? This is human right to us. I want it for you too. Russia calls this 'meddling'. It is easier to kill or put people in jail than risk loosing power. Ask Navalny. Or Netmsov.

I would expect similar answers if that question was asked in the US. I think the big difference is that politicians in the US are much more connected to their public approval than the leadership of Russia. It would be near impossible for the President of the US to use a nuclear weapon without first getting public support. I fear the ‘path to the button’ in Russia is much shorter and not really tied to public opinion.

A sitting US president does not require public approval to launch nuclear weapons. Perhaps you've heard of the "football" which is a suitcase that is with the president at all times when he travels. With that suitcase, he can enter a code and launch as few or as many nukes as he wants without anybody's approval. He does have advisors with him that may warn against it, but ultimately it's up to him if they get launched or not. The same is probably true in Russia and most countries with nukes.

I’m sure they have something to value and nuclear war is going ruin everything they had. And still I think they weren’t voting for Putin to be a president. His supporters are mainly people of 50 y.o. and more who keep saying things like “we don’t want another 90s” and “if not him, who else can”. They watch TV propaganda and believe every bullshit they fed. It’s sad for me that in an ordinary life these people are good and cheerful but when it comes to political discussions they are clearly seen to be brainwashed with all that old-fashioned Soviet-style idea which stands for Russia’s surrounded by enemies and if we don’t react now it would be worse later.
