This is the same as mine but mine is a 64 with 3 on the tree. You've done a beautiful restoration in it. looks like I'm missing the rear side reflectors, the windshield inside latches and mine didn't have holes for a passenger side mirror but I'd like one. My drivers side rear view mirror is the round type. I've got to get mine running and driving with new tires like you have and then do a frame off restoration on it to the level you did on this one.
I disagree. 32 or 33 x 9.50 / 16 work great. Fits up inside the rear fender well. Less rolling resistance and easier to turn with that manual steering.
@@andevank No problem! I had a FJ40 for years. When I bought it, it had the 11.50x31 tires. I drove it that way for years. When I decided to get new tires, I wanted something taller, but I didn't want to lift the truck. So I searched for the tallest tires that would fit inside the wheel wells. I don't recall the exact height, but I think it was close to 33". The first thing I noticed was how much easier it was to turn the steering wheel, especially on pavement. And a higher top speed (about 63 mph). I never did check the fuel mileage; that wasn't a concern at the time. Here is a couple of pictures of it with the shorter, wider tires, and the last picture on the trailer are the taller, narrower tires. Cheers! th-cam.com/video/NRSEyu3ziKw/w-d-xo.html

Wonderful sound, it remind me an 1966 fj40 yellow that used to be mine, excellent work, I recommend BF-Goodrich 31x11.50, more stability and save fuel
