As someone who has done security his entire working career, my pay range was generally 9-10/hr. With the highest I’ve ever been paid being $15/hr. Armed guards get paid $20-$30/hr because they’re *armed*. They represent a threat that tends to deter crime because… they’re armed. So this bot is realistically replacing a $15/hr guard. Now what you’re REALLY saving on is health insurance, benefits, vacation, sick pay, and accidents. Where an associate gets injured and has to go to the hospital. Now that’s where it’s really saving big bucks. Places that would really benefit from this would be retail stores. Having several bots with cameras driving around would be a great deterrent.
Cramer didn't ask any Qs about how Knightscope plans to spend the $20 million raised, if they plan to list on an exchange, what were revenues last year and what is their burn rate. This segment was just ad.
I can't wait to see this thing everywhere, in schools campuses, malls, theaters, casinos, people private driveways, airports, local business , trucking companies, trucks stops, community events, fairs, the beach, the concerts, police stations, military facilities, government building all over the country, medical, and eventually all over the world.

No mention of the Knightscope founders previous start-up, Carbon Motors Corporation, which closed its doors when it failed to secure a loan from the Obama Administration under the ATVM program leaving Connersville, Indiana in worse shape than when they got there? Could not get a loan from a bank or from investors like everyone else? Put all their cards in a plan to secure a government loan for a vehicle with a diesel engine? Jimbo, sounds like you have done your homework on this! It would be great to have you join the conversation about their Reg A+ offering document at mattervest.com/knightscope
Definitely a great business plan of making money out something that costs much lower and could work more effectively. This is basically an A/V recorder with a large disadvantage that - it is right on the face of the perpetrators with its odd size and shape - which will enable them to work around (human mind will always innovate workarounds faster than engineers can add new codes to circumvent that). A much cheaper and effective option is to cover the target area with high-res hidden A/V from all angles - which is way more effective and does not cost on hourly basis. There is distortion of economics these days that everything is great in the [X]aaS model - which is not. There are ample things in life you would want to own not lease. Obviously, this argument makes money for the [X]aaS providers.
I invested in this supposed IPO 3 years ago and they still asking for investors, dont do it waste of my funds, I think this company is a false and its ripping off investors like myself.
@Mike OK, Mr. Broker wannabe.....please explain what I said was incorrect. Since clearly you think know you investing better than me? I bet your that dumb ass that invested a 100 dollars in Robinhood and think you know investing because you made 5 dollars one day. Ok please school me?
I do security and pay rate is $10 to $12 an hour in Los Angeles. This will never happen. How will they work in hospitals and commercial use in case of an intruder. You need a human brain in situations.
Because no one has the budget for something like that on-site besides the government. And that's only in like tourists hotspots and "national security" areas. You can return to your mall and take pictures in various angles over several days and loiter there and no one will notice.
The question I have is what happens when some crook puts duct tape or shaving cream over the lens or, even more simple, just knocks the thing over so it can't get up or record anything?
Lol, I have a buddy who has these at work. He says everytime it rains the cameras are worthless due to the fog on the cameras. They dont need any help blinding themselves.
These guys had an office on Lexington Avenue in NYC a few years ago. I stopped in because I'd read a story that there were robots like these being used in China and had a chat with one of their people. They claimed not to know anything about it but not long after, that office closed. I'm not surprised to see them here, even though NYPD had bought a few of the 'dogs', displayed them in a heavily "minority" neighborhood and caused an uproar until the creatures were removed. This should be interesting...
I was concerned about that someone can just knock them over off there wheels then what ?Also if they are patrolling in California what happens if car heads towards the robot to knock it over or break it it millions of pieces.
This is so stupid! Investors should prepare to write off their money. A security robot that can’t go up stairs?! And Bill Santana’s track record as a tech CEO is abysmal.
I personally worked security at an airport for nearly two years before getting let go, and then being the LONE security guard for more than one neighborhood. I can tell you this egg bot is no replacement, for an well trained security professional! Until technology advances to where we get actual robo cops, security professionals have nothing to worry about.
If they sold these units they would make profit. Great idea but horrible management. He's not selling these as tools like he's saying but a subscription via contract. And when it's over they are going to realize the amount of money they wasted when they could do it for cheaper with a one time payment then long term contract. Also he dilutes shares without communicating with shareholders.
😂😂😂 they won’t even give us a microwave to heat food , why would they pay this much for robo security Ok how much does it cost to make one of these : say 10k minimum.. vs how much for a metal baseball bat .. you get my drift ..
@Benjamin Burkhardt They require you pay for minimum two robots, 365 days a year 24hrs a day, at 7$ an hour. That's $122K per year for a basic package, ie nothing more than the cameras on wheels. Plus, you still need a real security guard to stop the crime (robots just record video and play recorded messages).
Yeah, thats what they said about combine tractors. Took one farmer to do what used to take 15. Or GPS and total stations. Survey crews used to employ at least five guys. Now it takes one. I should know. Technology is wonderful, but it has a dark side that will soon become apparent when nearly everyone in this country is unemployed. This "tool" is an excuse to cut jobs, make no mistake.
