Like mentioned in the video, the Algorand blockchain's block time has be reduced to ~2.8 seconds with the Algorand 3.21.0 protocol upgrade. you can find more information here: github.com/algorand/go-algorand/releases/tag/v3.21.0-stable

Time to Finality is simply the most important feature. Thanks for this explanation.
It should be obvious that 21st century finance will be competitive. And not having deterministic finality at all is a non starter.
And not getting Finality until a quarter hour is just not competitive - aka, L2’s on Eth that take 16 minutes.
This needs to be communicated far & wide.

Hello Chris, you are great at explaining things, I like your videos. I hope that soon with the arrival of Python there will be more developers in the Algorand chain. The truth is it's a shame how underrated Algorand is when you then compare it to the hot potato that is Ethereum. Time to time.

nice explanation of the three components that define blockchain speed 👍

I think the explanation could be simplified. The lay person does not understand how blockchains work so talking about block times, time-to-finality, and (even) TPS will probably cause the audience to zone out.
What the lay person *will* understand is a) is it possible for my transaction to ever be reverted after I press send and b) how much time do I need to wait for the transaction to go through?
    Explanations for the lay person:
Concern A: It is not possible for your transactions to be reverted on Algorand. This is because transactions are *final* the moment a block is produced-- a feature unique to Algorand. When you send a transaction, it is done, forever.
Concern B: Technically, there is no need to wait because transactions can never be reverted. But if you're wondering when it will be recorded on the blockchain: currently in about 2.8 seconds, and this time will continue to drop with new updates.

Algorand è il migliore in assoluto, la gente rincorrerà il prezzo ora che l' accelerated vesting è terminato.
