A pretty slow death anyway, and the game is still successfull enough for it to stand as it is, right now. It'll be a while for the game to really die, in fact.
Of course. It is a game after all. As a Warrior, I know it's better to play with a 2H weapon, but I like to dual wield simply because it's more fun that way for me. If I'm not having fun, then it's not called "playing a game" anymore.
I’m going back to where it all started for me. Tauren Warrior, I should really be playing something else but that Tauren Warrior which by now is a Orc Warrior brings back some good memories. Unfortunately fifteen years ago I was a lot younger and could play and dedicate a lot of hours into the game each day. But being older and working/relationship etc. I’m not to sure if the game will even be playable at a casual level in regards farmings Bg’s for certain ranks etc. It will be fun dwelling into the past but I really don’t think the average person these days can commit to the amount of Hours needed to invest into wow without it having a bad impact on real life 👍🏻 nonetheless I will be playing casual Tauren Warrior 😊
I thought about changing it up, too. Then I quickly said, "Nah, Undead Rogue for life." =) I think casual Classic is totally doable, because the leveling is rewarding and there are many different things to do. Sure, you need to put in lots of time to be at the front of raid progression. I think people will also be able to find like-minded players who they can raid progress with more casually.
My two cents. When I first started playing the game in Vanilla just like most I had absolutely no idea what to expect in terms of gameplay mechanics or even abilities so choosing a class was a roll of the dice. Seriously no joke. This is coming from someone who used to open their spell book to cast abilities cause I had no idea how to configure a hot bar/action bar I was the noobest of the newbs. Created an orc warrior and hated dying to 🦂 scorpions so I immediately rerolled a warlock. Shadow bolts ftw! So I kept at it (Had no clue that a mage was a superior burst caster). I eventually went affliction and had the long painful journey of slow dot leveling. Took me 4 months to hit 60 since I just enjoyed every territory and quest that I could find. Going into the unknown parts of the world was the greatest feeling just randomly exploring. Wish I know then what I know now. Well guess what ? I do know then what I know now so going back into classic with my knowledge I know exactly which class I want to roll first for maximum pwnage, solo leveling, and most importantly, gold grinding ! Gold is king in classic and I plan on getting rich biotch ! Lol Happy hunting everyone ! We all know Barrens chat is coming back and remember the Vanilla music soundtrack is amongst the most powerful compositions in gaming history !
I'm going Rogue. Undead. And just gonna gank low lvls. Who cares about dishonorable kills. I was a lock in vanilla, always got ganked by stupid gnomes rogues. I have ptsd from it
Druid: Tauren > Nelf Professions: Alchemy with Herbalism, Leatherworkering with Skinning You'll probably be forced to play as Restoration in PvE but you'll shine in PvP. Hunter: Troll > Nelf > Orc > Dwarf = Tauren Professions: Engineering with Mining Third best ranged DPS but is pretty good at PvP and is 2nd fastest at leveling. Mage: Gnome > Troll > Undead > Human Professions: Tailoring with Enchanting, or Engineering with Mining Top ranged DPS, third top DPS. Fastest leveler! Someone hit 60 in 4 days. Free food and water. Free portals. Gnome gets 5% intellect which is top notch, but Undead are second best for a PvP race. Paladin: Human > Dwarf Professions: Alchemy with Herbalism, or Blacksmithing or Engineering with Mining You'll be forced to play as Holy in both PvE and PvP. Free 60% and 100% mounts saving you 1000 gold! Faster than warrior at leveling and is more forgiving. Priest: Dwarf > Troll > Undead > Human > Nelf Professions: Tailoring with Enchanting, or Engineering with Mining All viable with raids having one Shadow for +15% Shadow debuff. Best healer in PvE and quite good at PvP. Pretty boring to level but it is very easy. First three races are only real "best" choice. Rogue: Human > Troll > Undead > Orc > Dwarf > Gnome Professions: Engineering with Mining, Alchemy with Herbalism, or Leatherworkering with Skinning Highest DPS. Best PvP class. Not the fastest at leveling. Undead and Human are best PvP races. Shaman: Troll > Orc = Tauren Professions: Leatherworking with Skinning, Alchemy with Herbalism, or Engineering with Mining You'll probably be forced to go Restoration in PvE with Elemental and Enhancement being viable in PvP which are the masters at RNG. Decent leveling speed. Reason for Troll is just the 10% haste, but Orc and Tauren are great at PvP. Warlock: Gnome > Orc > Undead > Human Professions: Engineering with Mining, or Tailoring with Enchanting 2nd ranged DPS and gods at PvP. Free 60% and 100% mounts saving you 1000 gold! Third fastest levelers. Warrior: Human > Orc > Tauren > Troll > Undead > Dwarf > Nelf > Gnome Professions: Blacksmithing or Engineering with Mining. Only true tank which makes you extremely viable as Protection. Very slow levelers but much faster in a group.
Priest for sure for me this time around. I played a warrior back in classic and I only had maybe five key binds. I never really watched TH-cam videos or read forums about how warriors were the hardest to level. Even though I was new to MMOS I never even remember how difficult it was to level. All I remember was how incredible the leveling journey was, the learning through the basics of the game from 1-40, the forming of parties from trade chat or Tanaris general chat to do a dungeon, the ganking in Hillsbrad Foothills, the level 60 that would then come defend you, the vivid awe of inspecting the epically geared level 60, and eventually adding them to your friends list. I didn’t even know what their gear was, but It inspired me to get to that level 60 and be powerful like them. All I remember was the great journey, the friendship, the entertaining struggles, the specialness of a rare item, the simplicity in complexity, and just the pure love that bonded me to even just the login screen music. Now even if you enjoy current WoW’s progression, and don’t get why people miss Classic or TBC, We in my opinion just felt a truly unique vibe from the game itself, it’s an important part that is hard to quantify.
Don't do fury without hit use arms until you hit 60, sweeping strikes allows you to double your mob killing speed on average doubling your DPS every 30 seconds and allowing a warrior to actually kill 2 mobs rather than get slaughtered. Fury needs hit from gear to make it worth it as you missing that often leads to big rage gaps and sometimes bad RNG can get you killed compared to 2h which is more viable for PvP lvling due to its higher burst and allows proper reliable (ish) rage gen leading to higher overall kill speeds and survival rates. Some people don't like missing the healing you get from fury but in my experience as long as you keep first aid lvled you won't have any significant problems. Also battleshout is your most valuable tanking tool until level 50 so use it to cheese all early dungeons and make people revel at your tanking skills when all you're doing is battleshout.
Won't be playing classic, but just wanted to say this was really well edited, your commentary is funny and knowledgeable, one of the best guide videos Ive seen in a very, very long time.
The nostalgia is killing me! The amount of time I spent playing WoW is crazy! After all these years - maybe I will re-visit Azeroth again. Warlock most likely - like you say - such a diverse class, great class specific quests and rewards, absolutely insane looking set pieces for PvP, but then - all the classes are great.
Hi how you doing I don't normally comment on TH-cam videos because most of the time I think no one ever reads them anyway. But this video was so all done so exceptionally well done I feel compelled to let you know this. Also my first time going into wow many years ago this video would have been exceptionally useful to help me understand the world itself and how to play my character when I had no idea what I was doing. This video is so good blizzard should adopt it as a training video to help new players understand World of Warcraft better. So enclosing I like to add this was exceptionally well done it really helps and I understand some of the other classes I never understood even in all the years I play the game well done sir well done!
Yo buddy., I don't usually watch a lot of TH-cam vids, but man am I glad I saw this one. Like somebody said earlier in the comments: It was sublime how you managed to make it even harder picking a class to play (in a really good way)!!
Warriors do NOT roll through mobs while leveling, that's for sure. : p With normal tuning, and let's assume it will be, warriors are the hardest to level. They scale greatly in endgame.
For a newbie, they are the hardest to level indeed, to the point were if your gear falls several level behinds, you can't even 1v1 a single high armor enemy (like a turtle). However, if you know where to find/craft the best gear for your level, they are awesome even for leveling. But you gotta keep looking/farming/crafting/shoping for that gear, since it gets outdated every few levels. At Lv40 with a Lv40 Blue 2H Axe you feel unstoppable and delete mobs.
I usually just leave a like but MAN this was a really well made video. You were very positive about all the classes and made me want to play ones I have never had much experience with. Great work 10/10 would watch again
Just remember if you plan on raiding these are your choices.....Tank = Warrior, DPS = Mage, Main Heals = Priest. The heal positions is more flexible allowing for some well geared Shamans and Paladins. However, all other classes have very few positions available in raids and are simply used for single abilities to buff (Warrior, Mage and Priest) i.e. Innervate, totems, summoning
I wanna play so many classes yet I wanna have just one character that I focus all my energy on. I don't wanna end up with multiple characters. So it's vital to chose the right class.... it's so hard to decide...
For the hunter, I remember in classic that each pets have is owned Attackspeed, type of damage etc... Like the onetooth cat in badland who has an AS at 1sec, or lupos who makes shadow damage (ignoring armor). In a patch, all pets have been balanced and loose their particular strenght, but I don't remember when? Before or after 1.12?
Just don't play Pala unless you wanna raidheal with them. Yeah seal of command can be OP when it procs a lot in PVP but its unreliable and you can't count on it for steady DPS in PVP or PVP.
I always feel like it depends on what you want to do , your focus, and if you will prefer to group play or party play. I mained hunter in vanilla and I probably won't again in classic. I loved the memories so I may make an alt. hunter was good in PVP and solo and great in the first raid tier but not great afterwords. Great in just about every other form of content though. I've mained druid since Cata and I know Boomkin is bad in classic and druid is mostly just good in PVP and solo/leveling but meh in raids. I don't think they are great in group pvp but still doable. So i'll sadly have to not play my druid.
@Josip Well they had multiple instacasts in the form of their shocks they could throw out for easy burst damage, plus they had increased attack speed to proc WF. 2h ret pallies were praying to proc SoC every 2 seconds as that was basically their only burst.
Really like your Review style, positive, informative and helpful for decision making, first review today that didn't make me rethink my decision of coming back to wow. Out of the last 10-15 videos I've seen, the only one im Subscribing to.
I felt like there was a bit missing here and there, but then you said you were going to go deeper in more videos. I’ll have to watch them when you upload them.
Man you forgot that Warlocks have their own personal tank as a pet throughout leveling which makes it one of the best classes at quickly killing multiple mobs also due to their dots. Also warlocks almost have as good aoe farm as mages which make them a good gold farmer.
Frost mage aoe is unique because the mobs wont hurt you if they cant get close. Warlocks have rain of fire and hellfire, which is only viable when you have a personal tank.. And god help you if you take threat.
Bruh, wanna heal? Bruh.... Bruh! LOL I remember getting whispered by a raiding guild at 55 on my druid asking if I wanted some free wildheart bracers... if I come heal. I can't wait to roll an ud priest in classic!
Healing is so damn satisfying in classic too.. It's definitely something the main game lacks.. It's like you are one of the few classes that can heal and your heals are so damn impactful. Best feeling going to someone that is questing and healing them to save their life or save them money/time so that they dont have to eat.
@@MalvadoManso just need a balance druid with the +hit to barkskin, taunt, and drag the boss back to the tank.... sometimes ended up dying but gave enough time for the tank to get the boss back and save a wipe...
James Dempsey I was thinkin Orc Warlock, you think it’s worth playing in vanilla? I feel like, I’ll like it more because it’s an even field again and there’s not a million expansions to complete
@@Th3Chuzzl3r I started playing WoW in the Burning Crusade which was the first expansion. It was so much more fun playing in those days and the grind felt rewarding. You should definitely play a Warlock :)
2:58 Not saying paladins aren't decent healers but those healing meters are extremely inflated by Judgment of Light. So only one per raid that actually reach those levels
Cool guide! One big question, will being a tank at 60 at anything besides warrior be impossible? Kinda want to be a druid tank but apparently warriors are the only legit strat
Druids can tank 5 mans no problem... and you might be able to find yourself an off tank spot in raids, but druids can never really main tank. They get hit by a thing called "crushing blows" from bosses because they can't block. Warriors are essentially immune to these, paladins as well but pallys can't taunt so they're also a big no go for main tanking. Hope this helps!
Nice video dude, this takes me back. Congratulations on the growth youve seen this month, youve had a couple big videos and thats awesome to see. Keep up the good work!
Makes me happy that you didn't talk any bad about any class really. I was afraid that some class would be like ''You're pretty much shit and nobody wants you, good luck''.
this video is way too optimistic, basically he says can't go wrong with this class (in every single class). This video is not very instructive tbh, it doesn't have a deep understanding of the classes. That being said I wont downvote the video because the good intentions are there, but I think it's not a good video
alex s Yeah this video is wildly and horrifically overplaying everything. Calling warriors god mode is bollocks. Have fun leveling! “Considered one of the best tanks”. No, it is the best tank. Factually. That statement also implies that there are other tank options out there, which aside from possibly fdruid, is incorrect
Things will probably be different this time around with all the resources available to optimize every play style. Feral druids will still be shit, but I can see Ret Pallys and other "non-viable" specs worming their way into endgame content. Even in Vanilla days my guild had some odd-balls in the raid because their skill made up for the limits of the spec
@xrelik I found myself agreeing pretty much. Played a warrior in classic. SO gear dependent. Never had the time or energy to really get anywhere. DPS felt meh, tanking was great, but without gear you're just useless either way. If I remember correctly, ret pallys always ran out of mana quickly and didn't have high DPS. Rogues were just great. Mages, while great in general, sucked in certain raids, like he actually mentioned in the video. Fire mages just didn't exist in the early raiding days. And what is arcane even? I can't remember a single Arcane raiding mage. Frost in MC and so on, then Fire when the mobs weren't resistant to it. Fire if I remember correctly had much more DPS potential than frost or arcane. Frost was for PvP. Warlocks were kinda fun, but with the debuff cap...well. Druids were just healers...and occasionally an OT on my server. Hunters...buying 10,000 arrows for every raid, running out of arrows after 1 hour...yep, fun times. But at least they had ice traps :D so they were actually sorta useful in raids and dungeons. Priests, yep. I heard, there was a discipline spec...rumours perhaps. Shaman just didn't heal, but omg that Windfury with a 2 handed weapon. Soooo powerful. Especially in PvP.
I hear you, my man. The truth is, depending on the kind of player we're talking about, you really can't go wrong with any specific class. This video was meant to be optimistic, hence the title. I see how this might frustrate you, but don't worry, I'll be coming out with in-depth class videos soon enough. Thanks for the feedback!
As a warrior throughout the classic, let me tell you some truths about the class: you will use all your fingers and, if possible, your toes. At the end of a month in the classic will have RSI. You will spend more gold than all classes with consumables and if you are tank, you will never have room in the bag for each type of gear you will have to carry = D.
Warriors charging hunters? In what world? 41 yard range with hawk eye, intercept has a 25 yard range and a long cooldown, charge can't even be used in combat, so unless the warrior gets the jump hunters will kite the warrior to death. If the warrior does manage to get in close just wingclip, intimidation, and go fly your kite. Only time a warrior becomes scary is with a holy paladin behind them for freedom and heals lol
back in the day 2004-2007 I used to tear Hunters like they were nothing... with my warrior keeping a hamstring on a hunter (spaming if you can) means dead hunter. Yes he will try to kite you but if you fear his pet and keep hamstring on him he is dead meat. I used to tear paladins in early vanilla they would have full health attack me i would burn thru them, they would bubble re-heal 100% and i would still trash them. Back then i had unstoppable force (pvp mace) and warlord epic gear.... 60 endgame pvpv warrior gear was the beast. Only serious problem i had were mages.... nothing I did, not matter how good I played and timed my skills I could not kill even an average mage... their blink was too overpowered, freeze ya and blink... used to drive me insane.
@@alexs7097 thats probably because you always got a jump on them or they were bad hunters. A hunter can get away from a warrior pretty easily... scatter shot + FD + trap = your free. Or wingclip + pet charge (fear wont last forever). Hunters only had mail gear so a good geared warrior indeed can melt them quickly... just like a hunter can melt a mage, i remember in AV a mage was running past stormpike graveyard and i had aimed shot + multishot crit on him...thats basically 2k + 1.3k damage in 1 global. He was pretty much dead at that point... didnt help him for being on 60% mount, like most people back then. And i didnt even have that good of a gear... full blue pvp set atleast.
18.8% of people are playing warrior and 14.4% of people want to be a tank. Those 4.4% of warriors are gonna be real dissapointed when they come to the raid
What happened to power hour? He's one of the best people for Vanilla content and also one of the reasons I was able to even play on Pserver. Come back to us bro!?

The bubble hearthing paladin was one of the most hilarious things in the game.
First and foremost wow is about class fantasy. Every class is fun and unique in it's own way. Fun is the number one reason for playing any game.
Of course. It is a game after all. As a Warrior, I know it's better to play with a 2H weapon, but I like to dual wield simply because it's more fun that way for me. If I'm not having fun, then it's not called "playing a game" anymore.
"Bruh, wanna heal??", "for the 6000th time, im too low level", "Bruh wanna heal?", "Bruh!!" LMAO thats 100% accurate
Everyone seems to forget Druids have Mark of the Wild as a buff. The best buff in the game. You're welcome.
paladin has the best buff in game
@@raver377 but its only 10 stupid mins... some bossfights took us longer xD
Then I quickly said, "Nah, Undead Rogue for life." =)
I think casual Classic is totally doable, because the leveling is rewarding and there are many different things to do.
Lol you kept us in the dark, so what class are you picking first?! I'm actually eager to know..
MegaJorn123 I am picking a mage.

Holy shit, man, you know your shit more than a lot of the videos I find on vanilla, makes me nostalgic. Subbed for sure
I'm going Rogue. Undead. And just gonna gank low lvls. Who cares about dishonorable kills. I was a lock in vanilla, always got ganked by stupid gnomes rogues. I have ptsd from it

Be a man and gank low level gnomes
Druid: Tauren > Nelf
Professions: Alchemy with Herbalism, Leatherworkering with Skinning
You'll probably be forced to play as Restoration in PvE but you'll shine in PvP.
Hunter: Troll > Nelf > Orc > Dwarf = Tauren
Professions: Engineering with Mining
Third best ranged DPS but is pretty good at PvP and is 2nd fastest at leveling.
Mage: Gnome > Troll > Undead > Human
Professions: Tailoring with Enchanting, or Engineering with Mining
Top ranged DPS, third top DPS. Fastest leveler! Someone hit 60 in 4 days. Free food and water. Free portals. Gnome gets 5% intellect which is top notch, but Undead are second best for a PvP race.
Paladin: Human > Dwarf
Professions: Alchemy with Herbalism, or Blacksmithing or Engineering with Mining
You'll be forced to play as Holy in both PvE and PvP. Free 60% and 100% mounts saving you 1000 gold! Faster than warrior at leveling and is more forgiving.
Priest: Dwarf > Troll > Undead > Human > Nelf
Professions: Tailoring with Enchanting, or Engineering with Mining
All viable with raids having one Shadow for +15% Shadow debuff. Best healer in PvE and quite good at PvP. Pretty boring to level but it is very easy. First three races are only real "best" choice.
Rogue: Human > Troll > Undead > Orc > Dwarf > Gnome
Professions: Engineering with Mining, Alchemy with Herbalism, or Leatherworkering with Skinning
Highest DPS. Best PvP class. Not the fastest at leveling. Undead and Human are best PvP races.
Shaman: Troll > Orc = Tauren
Professions: Leatherworking with Skinning, Alchemy with Herbalism, or Engineering with Mining
You'll probably be forced to go Restoration in PvE with Elemental and Enhancement being viable in PvP which are the masters at RNG. Decent leveling speed. Reason for Troll is just the 10% haste, but Orc and Tauren are great at PvP.
Warlock: Gnome > Orc > Undead > Human
Professions: Engineering with Mining, or Tailoring with Enchanting
2nd ranged DPS and gods at PvP. Free 60% and 100% mounts saving you 1000 gold! Third fastest levelers.
Warrior: Human > Orc > Tauren > Troll > Undead > Dwarf > Nelf > Gnome
Professions: Blacksmithing or Engineering with Mining.
Only true tank which makes you extremely viable as Protection. Very slow levelers but much faster in a group.
Rumble Shakes wow thanks! i have been debating what class to play! this really narrows everything down a lot!
@@seth1817 Hopefully it helps. What have you decided on playing?

You did an excellent job in explaining every class. I played WoW from Vanilla and I can't wait to play vanilla wow again.
These beasts really can't go wrong at tearing up faces!
It is not you who chooses the class, it is the class that chooses you.
Love your style man. Straight to the fucking point and funny editing shit. Good job.
Thanks my dude. Means a lot.
Is an entire hotbar of frostbolt unique and fun?
just pick rogues
You perfectly captured my feelings about Warlocks pre-WOTLK. Now they're just bland bland bland!
Also battleshout is your most valuable tanking tool until level 50 so use it to cheese all early dungeons and make people revel at your tanking skills when all you're doing is battleshout.
does battleshout generate THAT much threat?
Very nice vid, i thought i settled on a class for classic but now back to the drawing board. Can't wait for the individual class vids.
Feral druid for me no doubt great video by the way.
Brandon Lewis as of rn Balance Druid is my go to hit for Classic I would have to choose Feral to make it easier if going both Pve and PvP!
Won't be playing classic, but just wanted to say this was really well edited, your commentary is funny and knowledgeable, one of the best guide videos Ive seen in a very, very long time.
TrickyBen don’t lie to yourself bro. If you played in Vanilla at some point your curiosity will get the better of you and you will play. Lol

Udi Assaf i know What you mean

Dude. straight to the point. no bullshit. Even someone new to wow can get the gist of it all. keep up the good work man!
If you are looking for smashing one button in raid, roll mage, sure :D
Yo buddy., I don't usually watch a lot of TH-cam vids, but man am I glad I saw this one. Like somebody said earlier in the comments: It was sublime how you managed to make it even harder picking a class to play (in a really good way)!!
As someone who played original vanilla, hunters are not low raid dps. To add, you can feign death and drink mid boss fight for Mana.
You made them all sound amazing. This made choosing even harder than before.
Every class: "..with a decent healer at your side, you can really do some serious damage."
Can we please make this guy big?
How is it even possible, that he only has like 2.6k subs?
Keep up the good work buddy, you did "tear up my face"!
because he told people to reserve items in 5 mans. that's why. he fails.
@freshtendrills Lol, I can tell you're a newb playing retail. You have never played Vanilla based on that postulation.
Thank god I stayed till the end for the present.
I usually just leave a like but MAN this was a really well made video. You were very positive about all the classes and made me want to play ones I have never had much experience with. Great work 10/10 would watch again
I'd really love to see more content like this come classic. Keep uploading please!
I appr. you mentioning Esfand... You're good person.
Rogue dps is repped too
I wanna play so many classes yet I wanna have just one character that I focus all my energy on. I don't wanna end up with multiple characters. So it's vital to chose the right class.... it's so hard to decide...
Toby Gunn what I’m doing is playing a class I have not played. I’m going different on Classic.
Before or after 1.12?
so bassicly. every single class is good and we cant go wrong :P

Classic holy (34)/ret (17) pally picking up Seal of Command was unstoppable.
Thank you for all your hard work bro. Love all the information you have provided. I will be recommending this to my guild on Classic launch
love the miniclips XD

"Free" ----> has to heal through a raid at low level haha
Healing is so damn satisfying in classic too.. It's definitely something the main game lacks.. It's like you are one of the few classes that can heal and your heals are so damn impactful. Best feeling going to someone that is questing and healing them to save their life or save them money/time so that they dont have to eat.

Do you like healing? Priest or any hybrid, so you like dps pick a rogue mage Warlock warrior, tank? Warrior
I really wanted to play warrior in classic but man charge being unable to be used in combat is way too dumb I might have to rethink it
